?? The #AISummit in #Paris was fascinating—profoundly political before being technological and resolutely #philosophical, which I particularly appreciated. The vision of minimal international #governance on AI, similar to the Paris Agreement on climate, is progressing. Governments around the world are following divergent paths, sometimes driven by fundamentally opposing values, making #global consensus difficult. Yet, beyond these differences, points of convergence can emerge, forming a more fertile common ground. During the Make.org event thanks Alicia Combaz for inviting me, Audrey TANG demonstrated how technology can elevate debates—enabling consensus by moving beyond opposition—to collectively solve problems more efficiently. Opposition, within a democratic framework, is essential to transformation. I also believe that #innovation and #regulation are not necessarily opposed. A flexible regulatory framework, designed by researchers, thinkers, builders, and entrepreneurs—the craftsmen of this new renaissance, horizontal and bottom-up rather than vertical and imposed from above—can help steer technology toward a safer and more meaningful trajectory without hindering its development. Translating this philosophy into a concrete ethical framework with measurable metrics is also a challenge, as brilliantly highlighted by the HumaneIntelligence panel—probably the most enriching exchange I attended. Key takeaways included: ?? AI governance must be adaptive, not bureaucratic, with a decentralized, interdisciplinary, and collaborative approach. ?? AI governance must be functional, with clear guidelines for AI deployment, especially in sensitive areas. This is precisely what we are working on at ?thos bringing together researchers and builders in these “new renaissance workshops” to draft white papers across different sectors. However, regulation alone is not enough—we must embed safeguards from the outset to ensure positive outcomes. On this topic, Yoshua Bengio’s perspective was particularly insightful: rather than developing agentic AI, he advocates for AI rooted in scientific rigor and explainability rather than blind autonomy. The #ScientistAI Research Project aligns with this vision: an initiative dedicated to developing explainable, non-agentic AI, steering AI away from unchecked autonomy and toward scientific understanding and safe applications. I am truly encouraged to see so many people mobilizing for a more meaningful technology—one that enhances consciousness, nurtures human potential, and remains genuinely human-centered. This is not just about #AI. It is about preserving and elevating life, prioritizing the common good over individual interests, and fostering intellectual and inner growth rather than empty materialism. Perhaps it is time to collectively reinvent the world we want, rethinking our #democracies and their mechanisms. We must champion a #humanistphilosophy that shapes a #humanisttechnology. #Wearethefuture.

It should unlock potential, spark curiosity, and inspire minds to rethink the world. Yet, too often, it does the opposite. When I built my online school, years ago, I didn’t just want to add more content—I wanted to redesign the learning experience. I saw how AI, the Metaverse, and immersive technology could transform education from passive consumption into active and collaborative creation. . Imagine not just reading about Ancient Rome, but building it in the Metaverse. . Not just learning theory, but experimenting, designing, and solving real-world problems. But here’s the key: technology alone is not enough. The future of education is not just about new tools—it’s about a new mindset. Philosophy is more essential than ever as AI and automation force us to ask: What kind of world do we want to build? What does it mean to be human in the age of intelligent machines? We must rethink learning as a lifelong, modular, and interdisciplinary journey that fosters: . Critical thinking over memorization . Skill-based learning over outdated degrees . Personalized paths over one-size-fits-all systems . A lifelong journey of exploration and reinvention The role of the professor is evolving—no longer just a lecturer, but a mentor, a guide, a catalyst. Education is not just about preparing for jobs that don’t yet exist (ex. augmented biology engineers, AI ethicists, memory curators). It must provide the keys to shape the future of humanity. Education is not about information—it’s about mindset transformation. Reflection, technology, and creativity must converge to develop multi-expertise, critical thinking, and humanistic innovation. This is where AI should enhance and augment learning—not replace it.
