KMI is excited to share the demonstration of REACCH (Responsive Engaging Arms for Captive Care and Handling) aboard the International Space Station! REACCH demonstrated its ability to capture free-floating targets in microgravity, advancing space maneuvering and sustainability. This technology builds on heritage collaborations with DARPA, NASA JPL, USC, and others. We’re honoring the legacy of a great American, astronaut John Glenn, as we refurbish this historic launch pad for Nova — and eagerly anticipate the launch of Blue Origin’s New Glenn! It was this month 69 years ago that the Air Force first broke ground on Launch Complex 14 at Cape Canaveral, which later played host to John Glenn’s iconic Friendship 7 orbital flight. Today the Jump Aero team rolled out a significant upgrade to our flight software. The acceptance testing process for new software involves testing on the sim, then on the bench, then in flight on a safety tether before flying free. This video shows a short tethered flight of the upgraded state estimator and flight controller. It is flown by our CTO, Brian Lozano. The aircraft is a dynamically scaled model of the full-scale JA1 Pulse. #evtol #aam

It's a very nice honor to be listed among the top 50 movers and shakers in #aam by Zag Daily! Given their caption, I feel compelled to point out that it was my last aviation venture, Terrafugia that was acquired by GEELY -- not Jump Aero Incorporated. We are still heads-down building value at Jump. And we are completely independent of any corporate parent -- which is a very nice situation having lived through both. I would suggest that the Geely founder/chairman, Li Shufu, should really be on this list. In addition to buying Terrafugia, Geely created AEROFUGIA, invested in Volocopter, and some Terrafugia-Geely alumni founded TCab Tech. And based on other Chinese evtols I've seen recently and a patent he has, I think he has a hand in at least one other that is not public. Also Yu Tian has deep personal experience developing electric aviation technologies and is the founder/CEO of another #evtol maker, AutoFlight. And there are many others... It just goes to show how large this segment of the industry is becoming that identifying 50 leaders is not enough to give appropriate credit! https://lnkd.in/gednuBqi
