Norwescap was founded in 1965 during the presidency of Lyndon Johnson and his administration’s efforts referred to as the “War on Poverty,” further fueled by the advocacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Over the next six decades, Norwescap has grown to build a comprehensive foundation of programs and services that, together, positively impact tens of thousands of people each year. Our tailored portfolio of programs and services is designed to address a wide range of unique challenges faced by New Jersey residents, offering access to the essentials for a more secure life—stable housing, nutritious food, healthcare, education, and more.

This incredible initiative provides outreach, education, and screening services for breast, cervical, prostate, and colorectal cancer to eligible individuals who are low income, uninsured, or underinsured in Warren, Hunterdon, and Sussex counties. ? Yesterday, our Norwescap team came together to "Pink it Out" and learn more about the vital services we offer, including clinical breast exams, mammograms, and breast ultrasounds. Together, we’re committed to spreading the word and making a difference in our communities! A special thank you to Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and New Jersey Performing Arts Center for presenting a check for $44,000 raised from select Festival performances during #NorthToShore to benefit the Growing Healthy Pantries initiative! The initiative is a partnership between Horizon, Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Food Bank of South Jersey, Fulfill, Mercer Street Friends, and Norwescap — which addresses food security statewide. Growing Healthy Pantries helps 900 food pantries in all 21 counties promote healthy food choices to improve the overall health of New Jerseyans.
