Over the past week, #HurricaneHelene has caused widespread devastation across the Southeastern United States, leaving many communities in urgent need. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we are committed to supporting their recovery. As part of our global Sail & Sustain program, we are donating $30,000 to the American Red Cross to support their crucial work on the ground. How the American Red Cross is responding: ??They have opened or supported more than 140 shelters and nearly 9,400 individuals who have evacuated their homes. ??Nearly 500 disaster workers are on the ground, with hundreds more en route, as they continue to battle deadly flooding threatening additional communities. ??Emergency response vehicles have been deployed to assist, and disaster responders are delivering meals and relief supplies while assessing the damage in affected areas. As #Summer2024 winds down, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to our crew members across each of our award-winning cruise brands: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. This summer has been very busy, but it’s been nothing short of amazing, and it’s all thanks to our incredible crew members who make our ships feel like home. Whether they are bringing the Freestyle spirit to life aboard NCL, crafting unforgettable culinary experiences on Oceania, or delivering unparalleled luxury on Regent, their passion and dedication have made every journey special. I’m continually inspired by their warmth, work ethic and commitment. As we sail into the fall, I’m excited to see what new adventures and experiences await us. At #NCLH, our commitment to making a positive impact in our communities is more than a promise — it’s a practice. As championed by our Sail & Sustain program, our global team is dedicated to giving back and actively supports a wide array of causes through our charitable initiatives. ? In 2023, we contributed nearly $1.6 million in cash, cruise, and in-kind donations to impactful initiatives across the globe. This includes over 60 cruise donations and significant support for more than 30 organizations in Miami-Dade County, where our corporate headquarters is based. From partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami to supporting the National Diversity Council and Teach For America Miami-Dade, we are committed to helping our communities thrive. ? Our commitment extends far beyond our headquarters. When devastating wildfires struck Maui, we quickly mobilized over $200,000 in cash and in-kind donations such as food, clothing, and mattresses to support the local community. More recently, we donated $50,000 to assist Juneau, Alaska, in their recovery after severe flooding. ? As we mark the #InternationalDayofCharity, we reaffirm our pledge to create meaningful change and support those in need.
