It’s been an incredible few days filled with productive meetings and networking with remarkable people in the defense sector. I had the pleasure of engaging in insightful conversations with Ambassador Anniken Huitfeldt at the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C. Being part of LINC (Launchpad for Innovative Norwegian Companies) and Norwegian-American Defense & Homeland Security Industry Council has opened doors to meaningful discussions with key stakeholders, including the Forsvarsdepartementet, the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C., Innovation Norway, Forsvarets forskningsinstitutt - FFI and defense representatives from various branches in both Norway and other nations. Looking forward to seeing the impact of these connections and collaborations as we work together toward future innovation and security. Day 1 at Association of the United States Army - AUSA with 25 Norwegian Companies, the Norwegian Ministry of Defense Delegation & visit from Ambassador Anniken Huitfeldt ? Yesterday, Ambassador Anniken Huitfeldt visited the annual exhibition of the Association of the United States Army - AUSA. This is the largest land power exhibition in North America, gathering representatives from a vast number of defense industry companies. Norway was well represented, and the Ambassador was welcomed by many Norwegian companies as she toured the exhibition. Stopping by the booths of Norwegian companies Nammo Defense Systems Inc., Teledyne FLIR, and KONGSBERG, Ambassador Huitfeldt was given demonstrations of some of the newest technology in drones, ammunition, and weapons. She also toured the Norway Pavilion, where the following eight Norwegian companies were represented: Axnes, Squarehead Technology, Teleplan International, GREEN AMMO, OnTime Networks, ACAPULKA, Kitron Group, and Watchbird AS. GREEN AMMO Today, we're pleased to announce that Green Ammo, AS has secured $5.8M in contracts with U.S. Department of Defense to deliver nearly 1,300 E-Blanks training kits amid the global blank ammunition shortage. ? Across two contracts, executed in August and September, Green Ammo will deliver 1,280?military-grade, pressure-tested E-Blanks kits for M4, M249, and M240 weapon systems. The units are expected to electronically fire an approximate total of 325,000,000 rounds (~250,000/each) before any components need to be exchanged, replacing the same number of traditional blank rounds and saving millions of dollars in ammunition costs. Earlier this week, USD(A&S) William LaPlante chaired the inaugural plenary meeting of the Partnership for Indo-Pacific Industrial Resilience (PIPIR), a multi-lateral forum of allies and partners aimed at strengthening defense industrial resilience to promote continued regional security, economic security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. National Armaments Directors, and similarly positioned senior leaders, joined him from all PIPIR member nations in both the Indo-Pacific and Euro-Atlantic regions. The forum serves as a platform to accelerate defense industrial base cooperation by reducing barriers to production, creating new sustainment hubs, and addressing supply chain constraints. "From day one, Secretary Austin has driven success through teamwork," LaPlante said. "Today's security environment demands closer collaboration with our allies and partners. #PIPIR will help strengthen our collective ability to produce and sustain warfighting capability in the Indo-Pacific, and the National Armaments Directors are uniquely positioned to drive action in these areas."
