This Women’s History Month, we wanted to celebrate some particularly inspiring women like Zoe Hirsh- MBA. Formerly a health care professional, Zoe joined Northwestern Mutual over five years ago with a desire to do something that helped people. “It’s a privilege to impact people and their families. I get to see people live out their goals and dreams in real time. Aside from being a new mother, that’s what keeps me motivated. I will never stop being grateful for this career. I am so lucky to service the individuals I do.” Zoe explained that her success as a financial professional stems from how she approaches success in life in general, saying that it’s important to live your life with “gratitude" and to "be coachable, and have GRIT.” “We’re all on the pursuit of happiness but living with these three qualities you are bound to end up at the right place someday. Mindset is everything, but so is effort. I would not be where I am today in life without these attributes. As BJ Hellyer says, success leaves clues, so bring it right back to good habits.” Thank you, Zoe, for inspiring us to serve our communities and pursue excellence in our lives!

Before Black History Month comes to a close, we want to recognize an outstanding member of the Northwestern Mutual Twin Cities team, Wealth Management Financial Advisor Edwin Young Jr, CFP?. Edwin is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER?. The CFP? website says that?holding the accreditation displays a high level of ethics, competency, and professionalism in financial planning. It’s also noted that Black?CFP? professionals only represent 1.9% of all CFP? professionals in the country. Edwin recently joined forced with Financial Advisor Ben Rasanen, who remembers introducing Edwin to the business a decade ago. He smiled when he recalled Edwin coming into the office from a stint with the Minnesota Vikings, wearing skinny jeans, a Lacoste shirt, and fancy shoes. “He was fresh from Vikings Training Camp, but I could tell right away that he was somebody who was taking this serious,” said Ben. “Edwin is always cool, calm and collected. He draws people in because of that, though I have always admired how much he is willing to fight for people that he cares about.” Ben also appreciates the conversations he and Edwin have had around race. “I’ve grown a ton in my appreciation for sharing other people’s perspectives and backgrounds and recognizing where they’ve come from,” Ben said. “I have always wanted a diverse team, because I’ve always wanted to serve a diverse marketplace. Edwin works extremely hard and is really good with people. We’re lucky to have him on our team.” Edwin enjoys what he does, too. “Being able to live out my purpose, which is driving the financial confidence and building generational wealth within my community gives me the most excitement,” he said. Love was in the air this Valentine’s Day at Northwestern Mutual – Twin Cities! Last week, Candy Grams were delivered through the office in style. Thanks to the generosity of our team, we raised an incredible $660. These funds go towards the individual initiative to match staff, team, and advisory charity contributions and to support NMTC familied if times get tough. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and spread the love!

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of celebrating some of our outstanding advisors at our Annual Recognition Dinner, hosted at Radisson Blu MOA. It was an unforgettable evening dedicated to acknowledging their hard work, dedication, and achievements. The night was filled with delicious food, plenty of laughter, and fun moments. One of the most heartfelt parts of the night was listening to our advisors share thoughtful messages to their families and spouses, expressing gratitude for the unwavering support behind their success. We are incredibly proud of them all, and are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate their achievements in such a meaningful way.

Our Rec Dinner is one of my favorite nights of the year. It is an absolute honor and joy to recognize our advisors and their firm's impact in the community. I am proud of their commitment to excellence in all areas of their lives. Many memories are made, relationships are deepened, and mindsets are stretched! Also, congratulations to Brent Goska, who received the 2024 Pillar Award. Brent has been a true steward in 039 since joining us in 2012. We are proud of his positive attitude, tireless work ethic, commitment to excellence and ability to build trust relationships! Our Eau Claire/Wausau district has grown immensely under his and Devin’s leadership. He has been a true partner to us at Northwestern Mutual Twin Cities, serving in many ways over the past decade – all with humility and grace.
