Wow, the first full month of the school year flew by; and, goodness, our staff was busy here at NWSISD. Below are just some of the highlights! Now, how will you partner with us in the months to come? Thanks to Dr. Rudy Ruiz, this Education Week article from last year was brought to our attention (turns out, our Executive Director Heather Lyke was even featured in the picture!): this was a great session that A. Davis and H. Lyke were asked to attend, and the collaboration was stellar. Which reminds us... Employees of our 7 member districts, have you signed up for the fall Leadership Series that Ulises Rodriguez Palada and I are facilitating? It starts in a few weeks, so be sure to get signed up!

In a recent podcast episode, Dr. Gholdy Muhammad asked, "Why do we wait to the end of the year for all the JOYFUL THINGS?" and then declared, "it’s so backwards." We can't agree more. So we grabbed out core team of 9 and 6 of those we contract with regularly and boarded a boat on Lake Minnetonka. It's official! We have expanded our team by adding one more amazing mind into the mix. Consider welcoming Ulises Rodriguez Palada to Northwest Suburban Integration School District by dropping a note to him in the comments below! ? Ulises' role falls into two parts: he will be (A) coordinating and facilitating professional development opportunities for staff across our 7 member districts and (B) providing concentrated support to our 4 magnet sites currently supported by a U.S. Department of Education grant. No doubt, we're going to keep him busy! Ulises brings a wealth of knowledge to our team, such as his skills in: ? Multilingual educational ? Professional development ? Culturally revitalizing & sustaining pedagogy ? Classroom-level & administrative-level leadership As an added bonus: he makes us laugh. We do love us a team member who brings joy into the office!
