NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK (NAW) POST #5! We are wrapping up NAW with a GRAND FINALE of ACCOMPLISHMENTS ?? But first let's focus on some highlights from this week: This week our team had in-person and online trainings, community, events, employer site visits, apprenticeship check-ins, the kick-off of Northwest Apprentice Council (NAC) and MORE! ?? The Apprenticeship Team actively engages in a range of educational opportunities and community events including GI Bill Certifying Official training, related instruction presentations, and hosting both internal and external workshops, such as the Med Certify Virtual Workshop, to enhance learning and collaboration. Thank you Fresh Baby out of Petoskey and one of our successful Apprentices for the check-in this week! We love to see our participants success! ?? NAC Launched?? This exciting new initiative is a collaborative effort to unite apprentices across diverse industries and occupations, along with enriching their registered apprenticeship experience. The National Apprenticeship Week grand finale for Networks Northwest and Northwest Michigan Works! showcased the region's commitment to workforce development through Registered Apprenticeship Programming. ??THE GRAND FINALE?? Celebrated the milestone achievement of ........ REGISTERING OUR 100TH APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM! Our continued goal for our customized apprenticeship programs for local employers is to demonstrate a significant step in fostering talent and meeting LOCAL industry NEEDS! NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK POST #4! The Networks Northwest Career & Educational Advisory Council (CEAC) team officially recognized registered apprenticeships as an essential workforce training model for students and job seekers during its recent quarterly meeting! ?? This initiative highlights the importance of ??Hands-On ??Experiential Learning to Address Critical Workforce Needs ????Prepare Individuals for High-Demand Careers. CEAC Board Chair, Pat Lamb, signed the proclamation, which outlined a unified commitment among workforce development professionals, educational institutions/employer partners to strengthen career pathways, promote skill development, and support economic growth in the region. This collaborative effort aims to bridge the skills gap, enhance talent pipelines, and ensure long-term workforce sustainability. NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK (NAW) POST #3! ?????? ??This post will showcase our role in trying to help with the Childcare Crisis happening in Michigan. ??The Northwest Michigan Works! Apprenticeship Services Team actively supports childcare initiatives by sponsoring three registered childcare apprenticeship programs and participating in key meetings aimed at improving outcomes for children and families across the 10-county region. Pictured below is Jane Breederland, Apprenticeship Specialist attending one of these meetings ?? ??Also pictured is Whistle Stop Early Childhood Education in Thompsonville whom received extensive assistance from both the Apprenticeship and Business Services Teams, including financial resources to facilitate their growth and meet their training needs. We take PRIDE in serving our Veterans! ?? Today's National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) post honors our Veterans with some takeaways from the Mt. Pleasant event we recently attended. Our Apprenticeship Services Team learned about attracting Veterans into Registered Apprenticeship programs, how the GI Bill Certification program is benefiting veterans and how other organizations are collaborating to help serve Veterans at a higher level. Last week Regional Director of Adult Education, Christy Nelson and Director of Northwest Michigan Works!, Jessica Willis, were both on a panel presentation at the Michigan Adult, Community and Alternative Education Association (MACAE) conference in Muskegon! The title of their presentation was "Bridging Gaps, Braiding Resources: Innovative Partnerships for Adult Learner Support". Christy and Jessica shared how adult education and workforce development partner in Northwest Michigan to provide Education for Employment for adult learners in our region.
