In the spirit of giving thanks, here's the story of Keith Ruzika, a musician who suffered a major heart attack while undergoing an angiogram at the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital at North Shore University Hospital. Musician Keith Ruzika suffered what could have been a potentially fatal heart attack after undergoing an angiogram at the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital at North Shore University Hospital. Luckily, our team – led by NSUH’s Cath Lab Director Dr. Perwaiz Meraj – gave Keith the best care possible. In time, Keith's heart function was restored, and he was able to play music again. He was joined by his South Bay Trio on Oct. 21 to play a concert in the lobby of the new Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion to thank the healthcare workers who gave him a second chance.
