NorthStar Clean Energy is excited to share that HolcimUS is now powering their Alpena facility with #clean energy! In collaboration with Holcim, we designed a 100-acre solar array that generates 35 gigawatt hours of energy per year, bringing them significantly closer to their goal of powering their facilities with 100% renewable energy by 2030. ? Our largest solar array in the Midwest is fully operational and soaking up the sun! ?? The 100 acres of solar arrays at our Alpena (MI) plant are now: ?? Generating 80% of the facility's electric power with clean energy. ?? Reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 25,000 tons per year. This milestone, achieved in partnership with NorthStar Clean Energy, helps accelerate a path forward for the community we've served for more than 115 years and fulfill our pledge of powering all US operations with 100% renewable energy by 2030.

Last week, we had the opportunity to welcome Texas legislators and PowerHouse Texas at our wind project in Coke County, TX! The tour of Aviator Wind allowed us to share our mission with local Texas leaders and discover the benefits of #clean and #renewable power. We are excited to show the impacts of renewable energy in our communities and look forward to developing future projects in ERCOT. Thank you to everyone that attended, and we look forward to decarbonizing our future together. Aviator Wind is a 525-megawatt wind energy project that hosts 191 General Electric wind turbines situated on about 50,000 upland acres. The carbon offset from this project is equivalent to taking nearly 300,000 cars off the road each year! #FindYourNorthStar

We kicked off the day at the Ronald McDonald House Charities Ann Arbor, baking cookies for the families who are staying at the house. We then enjoyed lunch and a couple of hours of bowling & arcade games at Revel & Roll. Bridgeport Consulting, LLC rounded out our day with a team building workshop.
