Dr. Hedge and his team gave life-saving treatment to Aaron, a former world-class motorcycle rider who survived a catastrophic crash. Aaron and his mother, Toots, are forever grateful to the doctors who defied the odds and gave him a second chance at life. Aaron's journey, from a 1 in a million chance of feeding himself to walking 20 miles across the Mojave Desert and biking across America, led to the creation of the C.O.R.E. (Center of Restorative Exercise), offering hope and rehabilitation for those with disabilities. Northridge Hospital Foundation and Dignity Health - Northridge Hospital Medical Center (NHMC), in partnership with local community organizations and generous donors, transformed an ordinary parking lot on December 5th, 2024 into a magical holiday wonderland for children! Over 400 children from the San Fernando Valley were treated to a festive Christmas celebration, featuring carnival games, arts and crafts, food, a visit and photo with Santa, and a bag full of gifts to take home. The California Department of Health Care Services has awarded Northridge Hospital Foundation a $841,897 grant to support Early Childhood Wraparound Services for Latino families in underserved communities! This program will focus on social-emotional development, health screenings, and parent education for kids ages 0-5. What a fantastic day we had on October 31! Our annual Pet Therapy Parade at Northridge Hospital was a huge success, with our adorable “Dog-tors” showcasing their creative costumes. These furry friends brought smiles and joy to patients and staff alike, reminding us all of the healing power of pets. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event so special!
