NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center is a multi-specialty medical, dental and mental health center and human service agency located in North Minneapolis. Our modern facility is handicapped accessible with ample parking, interpreter services, free transportation services for area patients and conveniently located on several bus routes It is administered through a partnership between Hennepin County and a Community Board of Directors comprising NorthPoint’s patients and people who live and/or work in the community. NorthPoint strives to improve the physical and socio-economic health of the North Minneapolis community through an integrated model of health and human services. October at NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center: A Month of Engagement and Achievement October was a remarkable month for NorthPoint as we engaged in various activities that bolstered our connections and demonstrated our dedication to community advancement and growth. We had the privilege of hosting Senator Amy Klobuchar, who toured our cutting-edge mammography suite equipped with 3D Tomosynthesis technology. Following her visit, she held a press briefing at the NorthPoint Conference Center to discuss her Find It Early Act. This proposed legislation aims to provide health coverage without cost-sharing for additional breast screenings for individuals at higher risk of breast cancer. Governor Peggy Flanagan, who was particularly impressed with our newly established Child Wellness Center. As well as a visit from Hennepin County Commissioner and Board Chair with International Fellows from the University of Minnesota's Hubert H. Humphrey Program. In another significant event, our CEO, Kimberly Spates, joined Attorney General Keith Ellison and state lawmakers at a press conference to highlight the Debt Fairness Act, enacted on October 1, 2024. This crucial medical debt reform ensures that healthcare providers cannot deny necessary care to patients based on existing debts. In conjunction with this, NorthPoint hosted a Debt Fairness Legal Clinic, providing community members with vital resources, legal advice on debt issues, and assistance with expungement.
