We're excited to announce Andy Chapman, President & CEO of Travel North Tahoe Nevada, is headed to Las Vegas this week to speak on North Lake Tahoe's exemplary stewardship efforts as part of this year's Governor's Conference on Tourism. The session, titled "The Business Case for Destination Stewardship," will highlight successful case studies, like North Lake Tahoe, and emphasize the importance of stewardship in shaping effective destination strategies that promote positive community development, local economic development and protect the local environment. It is always an honor to be a leading voice on sustainability efforts across the region, and we're eager to check out the findings from the full panel.

Lake Tahoe’s leading efforts in sustainability were the subject of a panel discussion at today’s California Travel Association Summit. “Destination Stewardship Case Study: Lake Tahoe” focused on sustainability efforts in our area over the past three years and how that work can serve as a blueprint for similar efforts in other areas. The panel included Travel North Tahoe Nevada President & CEO Andy Chapman, as well as North Tahoe Community Alliance President & CEO Tony Karwowski. It’s with tremendous pride that we congratulate the North Tahoe Community Alliance for receiving this year’s Sustainability and Stewardship Award at the recent 2024 CalTravel Summit! The award recognizes an individual or organization for successfully implementing sustainability and stewardship practices that enhance environmental health, manage visitor impacts and improve well-being of residents in their communities. NTCA not only meets but exceeds each of those criteria, and there is no one more deserving of this honor. The success of these local sustainability efforts can be credited to NTCA’s TOT-TBID Dollars At Work program, which is largely fueled by business owners across North Tahoe.
