We spent #WorldKindnessDay with our Manchester Township High School Habitat club in Manitou Park! We started the day with a walking tour, showing the students the homes we have built in the neighborhood over the years. We even took them inside our 23rd and 24th home builds that will be completed soon. Then, they worked with our construction department and built 4 benches that we’ve donated to the Sadie Vickers Resource Center’s community garden! We would like to thank Lowe's Companies, Inc. for providing $50,000 to support our Critical Home Repair program that makes it easier and safer for Ocean County residents to remain in their home. This grant funded five projects, including one that helped Tracy from Jackson with a leaking roof, windows, and various other issues. This #VeteransDay, we’re honoring and celebrating all the men and women who have served. Today, we’re especially grateful to highlight a critical home repair project that helped a local veteran, Vinny, with essential home repairs. Vinny has been married to his wife for 17 years and served in the Coast Guard Reserve, proudly displaying memorabilia around his home. He reached out to Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity with concerns about the roof that started leaking, and drafty windows. Our construction staff and volunteers replaced his roof and all 14 of his windows, addressing health and safety issues in the home. "Everyone at Habitat was very professional, nice, and thorough. To have a brand new roof and windows is just amazing. Thank you so much for everything and god bless," Vinny. A safe, comfortable home is one way we can say "thank you" for our veteran's incredible sacrifice. We are honored to have the opportunity to serve our veterans through our Critical Home Repair program. Thank you to all veterans for your dedication and service.???? We kicked off the month of November by partnering with Ecolab for a project at the Joan Valentine House in Point Pleasant! This crew helped us build a ramp that provides an accessible and stable pathway, ensuring smoother navigation for the residents. The lumber for the ramp was donated by Woodhaven Lumber & Millwork, Inc. Our Ecolab volunteers always bring energy and enthusiasm to the job site and we're looking forward to partnering with them on future projects!

Thank you to Georgian Court University for volunteering at our 23rd home build last week! They helped our construction team finish installing and painting door trim, along with painting the doors. One step closer!
