At the Northern Virginia Regional Commission's meeting last evening the Commission approved a $20,000 grant with Prince William County Public Works to help install 15 acres of trees in the Occoquan watershed to help improve and protect water quality. Jill Kaneff our Senior Regional Demographer at the Northern Virginia Regional Commission has followed up with the fact sheets on the number of civilian Federal jobs in the region along with the number of residents who are employed in civilian positions with a series of maps by zip code of where Federal civilian employees live in the region. More than 175,000 residents of the region are employed in Federal civilian roles. https://lnkd.in/eQCBbcKB

Jill Kaneff the Senior Regional Demographer at the Northern Virginia Regional Commission has authored a blog post and fact sheet on the number of Federal Civilian jobs in the region and also the number of Northern Virginia residents that work for the Federal government in a civilian capacity. 42.2% of all Federal civilian jobs in the Commonwealth are in Northern Virginia. 175,436 residents of Northern Virginia work in Federal civilian positions. https://lnkd.in/ec5JJ2-G
