Today, the Northeast Construction Trades Workforce Coalition, Inc. hosted its Student Activity Expo at the Saratoga City Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The event welcomed 76 juniors and seniors from 10 area high schools, aiming to raise awareness about the wide range of career opportunities available in the trades. Students were divided into groups and engaged in various hands-on construction-related activities, including Kitchen, Bath, and Lighting Design; Building Science and Technology; Supply Chain Management & Logistics; and a competitive building challenge where they constructed dodecahedrons. After lunch they were then welcomed to explore the Expo Showroom hosted by Curtis Lumber which included 80+ vendors showcasing the latest products in the building industry. Saratoga County Mayor John F. Safford also attended the event, showing his support for the coalition and its mission.
