Day 1’s keynote speaker was Rorke Denver, Navy SEAL Commander and the founder of Ever Onward, a cutting edge training company that takes Navy SEAL principles and applies them to civilian life. He is a phenomenal speaker and storyteller and many of the leadership principles shared resonated with the audience- like the reminder to be relentless in your pursuit of excellence. ?? Get to know your team - know everyone’s skill set. ?? Calm is contagious. ?? Always find that extra “inch”! ???????? But one stood out and that is the challenge of taking risk on your people - on their ideas. Give them ALL the credit if it is successful- and you take ALL the blame if it fails. ???? ?? He truly was a tremendous, positive force and everyone was up on their feet with a thunderous ovation. Every summer, we gather our members for a 2 1/2-day meeting this weekend packed with Chapter updates, industry trends, educational and inspiring speakers, sprinkled with some family-fun activates and themed events. Based on some immediate feedback, it was a successful event! Successful events like these take months - and some items - years of preparation. The Chapter gives a huge shoutout to current Staff, Board Members, and General Members who were part of making this happen! Special Thanks to Lori Wisniewski Azzara & Anthony Byler of CohenSeglias for their informative Construction Claims seminar and Kyle Scheele for an outstanding presentation on "Becoming an Idea Factory" and "It Only Takes One". Toast to a very successful Inaugural Sporting Clays Outing for the members and guests of the Northeastern Illinois NECA Chapter! With over 70 participants, we could not ask for a better day to shoot clays for friendly competition and networking. Success of this first-ever event was not achieved without the chapter staff Rosie Montanez and chapter members Carrie L Liberio and Valerie at High Voltage Electric. Special thanks to chapter member Lauderdale Electric for sponsoring us at the beautiful Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation! We greatly appreciate your attendance and support. This past week the Northeastern Illinois Chapter attended the NECA Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. The Chapter met with members of Congress and made their voices hear on Capitol Hill. On Tuesday the Chapter met with NECA Vice President General Ron Bailey to do a Strategic Plan update session. It was a successful action packed 3-days.
