Join the Fair Housing Center Wednesday, March 12th from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at 2728 Euclid Ave #200 Cleveland 44115 for their open house. The Fair Housing Center wants to bring in the community to see their important work in advocating for housing equity and combating housing discrimination.

Have you, or any of you family or friends been denied housing do to previous criminal legal involvement? If any of these are true, we invite you to help us explore the impact of background checks on housing applications, and the movement to break down the barriers to restoration for those of us with lived experience of incarceration. We are building a Campaign to give EVERYONE a fair chance at safe and stable housing for themselves and their loved ones. As a part of that effort we are hosting a community conversation on the topic Tuesday March 4th at 5:30 pm at Third Space Action Lab (1464 E 105th St, Cleveland, OH 44108). You may have seen that the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) is pushing Congress to stop Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from gutting HUD by terminating half its staff—a move that would severely worsen the housing crisis. We’ve learned that DOGE is moving forward with cutting HUD field staff effective May 18. But this is not a done deal—it’s a test for the Administration to see whether advocates will respond. NEOCH stands with the tenants at Granada Gardens and their dangerous living conditions. Landlord at Granada Gardens made no response to the Tenant Association’s demand letter of 2/12 that asked for action by 2/14 on the above. Granada Apartments Ltd. should be ashamed of the conditions at the property. If they won’t do the right thing on their own, then the Tenant Association will act to force them to do the right thing or replace them with someone who will. https://lnkd.in/gYXedXNW

He is very active in the Black and Afro-Latine community and was honored to join YLN at last year's Puerto Rican parade. ????
