STATE TROOPER SHOT: New York State Police Trooper was shot during a car stop. The Trooper is currently in stable condition at a local hospital. They are asking for the public's assistance in locating a vehicle wanted in connection with the shooting of a State Trooper. On October 30, 2024, at about 11:45pm, a Trooper was shot on the Southern State Parkway westbound in the area of Exit 17, West Hempstead, Nassau County, NY. The suspect, who is believed to be a dark skinned male, fled the scene in a black sedan, possibly a Dodge Charger with a New Jersey temporary tag of 997636T. The vehicle is further described as having custom matte gray dual exhaust tips. The Trooper is currently in stable condition at a local hospital and the investigation is ongoing.
