NECEC leads the just, equitable and rapid transition to a clean energy future and diverse climate economy. NECEC is the Northeast Clean Energy Council and NECEC Institute. NECEC helps clean energy companies start, scale and succeed with our unique business, innovation and policy leadership. We bring together business leaders and key stakeholders to engage in influential policy discussions and business initiatives while building connections that propel the clean energy industry forward. Our results-oriented team is highly skilled at turning a clear vision into reality and effectively influencing policy to build a world-class clean energy hub in the Northeast. The New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC) was formed in late 2006 when leaders in the Massachusetts’ clean energy industry saw the need for a regional business association to convene clean energy stakeholders dedicated to growing the state and the region’s clean energy economy. In October 2015, reflecting our growing activities in New York State and the rapidly growing community of member companies doing business in New York and across New England, NECEC became the Northeast Clean Energy Council.

???Reflecting on the Recent Presidential Debate??? Watching the recent presidential debate, it was disheartening to see climate policy receive just one question. But Vice President Harris's connection between the climate crisis and job creation struck a chord with us at NECEC. Regardless of who sits in the White House, one thing remains clear: the momentum of the climate economy must keep moving forward. The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has laid a strong foundation for clean energy innovation, climate tech and good paying jobs in the Northeast, and we’re committed to ensuring that progress isn’t lost. At NECEC, we are focused on advocating for state-level programs that build on the IRA’s success, creating jobs, and driving clean energy solutions that uplift our communities. The work doesn’t stop with this election. The future of our region depends on steady leadership and collective action and at NECEC, we will continue to lead the charge, ensuring the benefits of the IRA are felt for years to come. #ClimateAction #NECEC #CleanEnergy #ClimateEconomy #InflationReductionAct #WorkforceDevelopment

?? NECEC Joins the Call to Action for Clean Energy in Massachusetts! ?? In a pivotal moment for Massachusetts, NECEC stands with clean energy advocates urging key legislators, including Senate President Karen Spilka and House Speaker Ron Mariano, to address critical siting and permitting reforms. This collective appeal highlights the urgent need to streamline processes vital for advancing the state’s clean energy infrastructure and economy. ?? As both the House and Senate propose legislation to modernize the electric grid and accelerate clean energy projects, the path to compromise remains complex. Each bill has distinct priorities, from boosting clean energy procurement to managing the costs of electrification. Despite these efforts, reaching a consensus has proven challenging. The recent appeal, signed by leading organizations such as Advanced Energy United, Coalition for Community Solar Access, Solar Energy Industries Association, and the Solar Energy Business Association of New England, underscores the importance of these reforms. The letter warns that Massachusetts risks losing millions in federal funding and delaying critical projects if action isn't taken swiftly. The message is clear: legislators must find a creative and effective solution to streamline siting and permitting processes. By doing so, Massachusetts can unlock its full potential for clean energy innovation and secure a sustainable future for all.
