The North Atlantic Division was proud to host Michael Dean, the Executive Director of the American Salvage Association, at NAD headquarters yesterday. During his visit, he met with NAD Commander Brig. Gen. John Lloyd and other division leaders. This past August, the North Atlantic Division and the American Salvage Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding underscoring the strength of their partnership. The common goal between the organizations is to ensure the safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally sustainable waterborne transportation system (channels, harbors, and waterways) to support the movement of commerce, promote timely, responsible and professional salvage and debris removal response to marine casualties and natural events; and enhance the protection of the environment along our nation’s waterways. #usace #partnership #salvage #americansalvageassociation

Tomorrow is National Public Lands Day, and our recreation areas are celebrating by waiving day-use fees!
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that it will waive day use fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches at its recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day (NPLD) on Saturday, Sept. 28. The waiver does not apply to camping and camping-related services, or fees for specialized facilities such as group picnic shelters. Other agencies and partners that manage recreation areas located on USACE lands are encouraged, but not required, to comply with this waiver of day use fees in the areas they manage. USACE welcomes volunteers to continue the annual tradition of public service by participating in NPLD events. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eihyHywK
