Scott Martin got me to do a podcast with Will Smith and another with Peter Lehrman, and I am starting to worry that he has created a monster. For the majority of my career I enjoyed being the person in the back room, not the person on stage. That seems to be changing and I am hoping it is for the best for North Park Group and our portfolio companies. I have been asked to speak at the Smart Business Dealmakers Chicago Conference on October 16th at the Union League Club of Chicago. It’s an opportunity to gain insights and connect with industry leaders. This year, the conference theme is "The Evolving M&A Landscape," offering a platform to learn from the best dealmakers in the Greater Chicago region. Now I am both afraid of being on stage but also worried about talking to an empty room. Come on LinkedIn network, lets get together at the conference to connect and fill my speaking room. I am sure we will all learn something and worst case, you probably get some good comedy material on me to use at the bar after the event. Late announcement - August 30th was a good day for me and the North Park Group portfolio companies. Well maybe a better day for the portfolio than for me. I had the honor or requirement to turn another year older (Some would say seasoned). The day was a little happier and brighter since we paid another distribution to our members from one of our portfolio companies. Sure, maybe it was cleverly timed to align with my birthday (cash always makes the best gift) or maybe we just wanted to separate it from the news coming later this week or maybe we just like providing cash back to members before a holiday weekend. Either way - it is awesome to see the continued success of the team and watch the companies we have recently acquired grow and flourish. Thank you to everyone for their support and continued trust in our leadership team.
