We are putting African giant millipedes out on the floor again. Meet Milli Gram! Don't let her name fool you–at nearly nine inches in length, she might just be the largest millipede you've ever seen! ?????? ?????? ????????: African giant millipedes have 4 legs for every body segment, excluding their head and tail. So if you count Milli's segments and multiply that by 4, you can figure out how many legs she has! Giant millipedes can have up to 400 legs. Find our giant millipede enclosure in the North Museum's Live Animal Room!

Their generous $10,000 grant will go toward North Museum STEM Career Fairs–a program designed to introduce 5th–8th grade students to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) careers. With the help of the Terracon Foundation grant, Terracon supports the North Museum of Nature & Science STEM Sisters program. Yesterday, our own Manisha Ahuja, P.E., P.Eng. and Nisha Mohanan, P.E. shared their stories on what inspired them to be geotechnical engineers and explained what geotechnical engineering means. They even demonstrated using a yummy geocake!! The girls and parents had a great time!
