95 % des communications mondiales passent par des cables sous-marins : Ces enjeux invisibles au c?ur de la guerre hybride ???? Le 24 décembre, la Finlande intercepte le pétrolier?Eagle S, battant pavillon russe. Il est soup?onné d’avoir endommagé un cable sous-marin reliant la Finlande à l’Estonie. Cette infrastructure, vitale pour les communications entre ces deux pays nordiques, est aussi une cible privilégiée de la guerre hybride menée par la Russie et sa "flotte fant?me". Avec 552 cables sous-marins totalisant 1,4 million de kilomètres, ces artères numériques transportent 95 % des données mondiales. Leur diamètre, équivalent à un tuyau d’arrosage, et leur vulnérabilité en haute mer en font des cibles idéales. Dans la Baltique, où les eaux sont peu profondes, un simple ? accident ? d’ancre peut suffire à les endommager. Ce n’est donc pas un hasard si cette région concentre la majorité des "incidents" récents. La guerre hybride et la "flotte fant?me" russe?????? La Russie est soup?onnée d’utiliser des navires fant?mes – sans transpondeurs ni signaux radars, issus de la flotte civile– pour cartographier les cables sous-marins et préparer des opérations de sabotage. Ces actions s’inscrivent dans une doctrine de guerre hybride, mêlant intimidation, destruction d’infrastructures critiques et désinformation. Comme l'indiquait Nicole Starosielski, experte en infrastructures numériques : "Les cables sous-marins sont des points névralgiques de la connectivité mondiale. Si leur interruption semble locale, leurs conséquences sont souvent globales." Pourquoi les cables sous-marins sont-ils des cibles parfaites ?? ??Stratégie économique?: Saboter un cable désorganise les marchés, ralentit les flux financiers et perturbe les cha?nes d’approvisionnement. ??Impact asymétrique?: Une coupure de cable peut causer des pertes massives pour un co?t minimal. ??Dissuasion et pression?: Ces attaques évitent une escalade militaire immédiate et occupent l’attention en dehors des zones de conflits. Tous concernés : un enjeu mondial ?? Protéger ces infrastructures est devenu une priorité stratégique majeure. Des solutions sont actuellement en discussion: ?Des drones sous-marins?et capteurs pour surveiller les activités suspectes appuyés par l'IA, projet Argus (north.io GmbH) ?Renforcer la coopération internationale et adapter les sanctions contre les états et acteurs impliqués.
