?? Thank You, Los Angeles! We Planted a Miyawaki-inspired Micro-Forest! ?? On March 8th, North East Trees, in partnership with Kathrine Pakradouni, West Los Angeles College, the California Center for Climate Change Education, and Nature Nexus Institute, came together to plant a brand new Miyawaki-inspired Micro-Forest right on the West LA College campus! ?? ??Developed by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki, this method creates dense, biodiverse, and self-sustaining forests in small urban spaces—aka “tiny forests”—and the benefits are powerful: ?? Biodiversity: Thriving ecosystems in compact spaces ?? Carbon Sequestration: Fast-growing trees capture CO? ?? Urban Greening: Cleaner air, cooler cities ?? Ecosystem Restoration: Healing land, restoring balance This project is a beautiful step toward a greener, more climate-resilient Los Angeles—and we couldn’t have done it without YOU! ?? Want to be part of this movement? Follow our amazing partners and get involved—because the forest needs all of us. ??Video by: Alex Michel #BringingNatureBack #NorthEastTrees #UrbanForests #ClimateJustice #GreenLAFuture #InternationalDayOfForests #TheMiyawakiMethod #MicroForest #LAClimateAction #TreeEquity

  • Flat Top is Growing! ?? Do you love Flat Top? We do too! And so does @RPOSD! ?? On 2/25/25, North East Trees was awarded $508,012 to expand and protect our beloved Flat Top! ??? This funding is part of the historic $17 million in Measure A grants, marking the largest parkland expansion effort in @RPOSD’s 31-year history! ?? With 623 acres of new parkland across LA County, this initiative is transforming neighborhoods, restoring wildfire-impacted lands, and ensuring a greener future for generations to come. Why does this matter? Because parks are essential. They support wildlife, trees, our communities, and future generations. They make life better for all of us! ?? ??Thank you, California, for investing in parks, nature, and our shared future! #RPOSD #MeasureADollarsAtWork #ParksMakeLifeBetter #ParkEquity #ParksForAll #BringingNatureBack #FlatTop #NorthEastTrees
