We want to send a big thanks and shout-out to Enterprise for their long-standing support of our mission. Your dedicated volunteers brought the energy and enthusiasm we needed during this wet weekend. We love bringing nature back with you! ??
Rain in the forecast didn't stop some of our team from volunteering for North East Trees along side employees of Patagonia! We got our hands dirty and helped transplant 170 Sticky Monkey Flower plants at one of their nursery's to help with efforts to plant more native species in LA's green spaces. #iwork4em #conservation

Thank you so much for your ongoing support and commitment to North East Trees. We are starting 2024 off with immense admiration for our incredible community of supporters, donors, and grantors who continue to catalyze our growth and transformation. 2023 was a year of tremendous success, including our recent end-of-year fundraising campaign, where we raised over $30,000 in private donations (a 30% increase from last year's end-of-year campaign). This will power our work employing and training young people to create vibrant and sustaining green spaces across Los Angeles. This success is only possible with your contributions, generosity, and commitment to our mission. Thank you again for acting on your values by supporting our cause. Here's a sneak peek of what we'll be working on in 2024: ?? ?? Starting Project NELA (Nature, Education, Learning, Always) which will transform seven elementary and middle schools with hundreds of new trees and enhanced outdoor learning spaces. Additionally, we will be breaking ground on our Buchanan Street Elementary School Greening Project. ?? ?? Continuing to grow seeds for the future. Our monthly volunteer actions at the Ascot Hills Native Plant Nursery resume this weekend (Saturday Jan 6th from 9am-12pm at Ascot Hills Park) and we’re excited to be growing plant materials for upcoming park and open space projects. ?? Leading community outreach on LA City and County’s Urban Forestry Management Plan through hosting two interactive workshops early in 2024 located in Watts and Unincorporated East LA.?And this Spring, we'll take direct action by planting 500 street trees and 1,000 residential trees in Northeast Los Angeles. ?? Advancing construction and habitat restoration on two community-driven park projects at the Pueblo del Rio and Ramona Gardens Housing Developments, which will create vital green spaces for these communities. ??♂? ???? Launching a career and workforce development program in Watts for over 30 local youth and individuals from the re-entry population that will result in 800 new trees in Watts. To stay tuned on the above and much more, please be sure to follow us on social media (below) and sign up for our newsletter. In addition to our amazing supporters, donors, and grantors, we want to thank our dedicated Board and Staff, our amazing end-of-year campaign prize donors: Patagonia Pasadena, Holy Grounds Coffee, and Chloé Renée Ziegler, and everyone who decided to join our brand new Sycamore Team! We're excited to journey forward together in 2024 and beyond, shaping a legacy of positive impact that extends far into the future!
