The North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters represents nearly 26,000 union members and their families from 36 local unions in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters is chartered by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners — one of North America’s first unions, and still one of its most vibrant. The UBC represents more than half of a million Carpenters, Floor Coverers, Lathers, Millwrights, Pile Drivers and Cabinet Makers in the United States and Canada. Being in the Carpenters Union means power in unity and strength in numbers — locally and across the nation. As a union, we are dedicated to protecting and elevating the economic and social condition of all workers. We partner with contractors to provide our industry with the best trained, most productive and safest workforce available. The superior productivity and skills that our members bring to the job reward us with pay and benefits that allow us to provide a better life for ourselves, our families and our communities now and in the future.

National Apprenticeship Week is still going strong! This week, Duluth, Fargo, and Pewaukee hosted gatherings featuring dinners, games, raffles, and networking with signatory contractors. In Pewaukee, six schools participated in CTI tours, and over 100 attendees joined the NAW celebration! A huge thank you to all who came out to show support for our apprentices during this special week!

Last week, NCSRCC hosted a Minority and Woman-Owned Contractor Event, bringing together a dynamic group of contractors and industry professionals. This event celebrated the incredible contributions of our signatory minority and woman-owned contractors, offering a platform to showcase their unique specialties, foster meaningful connections, and open doors to new opportunities for growth. Thank you to all who participated and attended! Our strength lies not only in the quality of our work but in the relationships we build. We all rise together toward greater success through partnership, mentorship and learning from one another.

Carpenters Local 587 (Sioux Falls, SD) and Interior Systems Local 68 (Saint Paul, MN) kicked off National Apprenticeship Week early! Local 587 started the celebration with a delicious meal, raffles, and a special ceremony honoring two apprentices who received their journeymen certificates. Big thanks to EST Pat Nilsen for joining the celebration and speaking to our apprentices! Meanwhile, Local 68 celebrated with a bags tournament, lunch, and a raffle featuring gift certificates to Hank’s Specialties. Stay tuned as we continue to highlight more NAW events across our regional council!
