North Central ESD

North Central ESD works closely with district Special Education Directors and provides technical assistance and numerous resources. In January, we hosted a Safety Net Application workshop to provide guidance and support to districts who were applying for additional funding through the state’s Safety Net program. To access these funds, districts must apply and provide evidence of high-need individual students whose Special Education costs exceed a certain threshold, and community impact factors that result in extraordinary costs beyond the district’s control. Members of our Migrant Education Program team recently hosted a PAC Night at Large for Wenatchee School District that drew around 400 attendees including students, family members, and vendors. During the event, attendees learned about the Skyward program and enjoyed entertainment from Mariachi Huenatchi and Folklorico Corazon de Mexico. #NCESDinAction

The annual Regional High School Art Show ?? opened at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center on Friday, March 7. This year’s Art Show showcases 167 pieces submitted by students from 17 schools in North Central Washington, with the “Best in Show” selections advancing to statewide competition in Olympia in April. The show is made possible through partnerships with Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center, North Central Educational Service District, and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
