I love a tabletop discussion! I had the privilege of leading the "Embracing Neurodiversity: Unlocking Talent and Innovation" tabletop at North Carolina Technology Association (NC TECH) summit yesterday. The discussion was so good, we went over time! My colleagues, Kurt Merriweather, CDE? and Laura McAtee also led discussions. And the awesome Susie Silver, CDE??lead the closing keynote. So thrilled that my team at The Diversity Movement is getting to do what we love most, making a difference.

Get to know our one of our newest members of the #NCTECH Board of Directors! The Board helps guide our organization’s mission to fuel and champion growth in the state’s tech sector. Welcome new Board Member Megan Hutchinson, CPA, Tax Partner at Cherry Bekaert - What attracted you to get involved with NC TECH and want to serve on our Board of Directors? Cherry Bekaert has been a long-time sponsor of the NC TECH awards, and I have had the pleasure of being very involved in the process. In doing so I have gotten to know and work with the NC TECH team. These folks are simply phenomenal. So when the opportunity to serve on the Board came up, it was a no brainer. Not only would this be a chance to work more with the people of NC TECH, but this is an opportunity to add my voice and experience in support of the industry. I have also valued the insight and programming NC TECH has done in promoting women in tech. My hope is to further add to that conversation and work to keep NC #1 for women in tech fields. - What are you reading, watching and/or listening to now? I am an avid reader of mostly fiction - any genre will do. Currently reading 'Variation' by Rebecca Yarros. I love a goal and generally shoot for 30-35 books a year. Tax season takes a hit on watching much, but I make time for White Lotus and of course my beloved Carolina Hurricanes! :) Megan joined the board in February 2025. Get to know our newest Board Member, Mark: - Can you tell us a bit about your background and experience in the tech industry/sector? I embarked on my technology career in 2014 with Global Knowledge, during the pinnacle of cloud technology's rise. Throughout my career, I have consistently pursued various technology courses to stay abreast of emerging trends, ensuring my expertise remains current and valuable. In 2017, I became a founding sales member at Cloud Academy, where I played a pivotal role in scaling the startup from inception to over $50 million in revenue. My notable accomplishments at Cloud Academy include leading a design thinking workshop that mapped out cloud training for 30,000 employees, enabling comprehensive cloud understanding across software organizations, and enhancing skill transparency among 34,000+ support engineers, significantly accelerating their support resolution capabilities. In 2023, I assumed the role of CEO for Fast Lane US & Canada, where I have been instrumental in spearheading strategic partnerships with major technology providers including AWS, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Splunk. Driven by a passion for transformative leadership, my focus remains on helping organizations revolutionize their business practices, accelerating sales and revenue growth through strategic training and technology adoption. - If you could swap places for a day with any founder, innovator or leader, who would it be and what would you do? If I could swap places for a day with any innovator, I'd choose Jenson Huang, the co-founder and CEO of NVIDIA. Huang's journey is particularly inspiring, starting from very humble beginnings where he once worked as a server at Denny's. Spending a day as Jenson Huang, I would dive into the innovative environment of NVIDIA, engaging with teams at the forefront of AI, deep learning, and parallel computing technologies. I'd focus on grasping how to drive innovation on a massive scale and participate in the strategic decision-making that propels their projects forward. Additionally, I would mentor young engineers, sharing the importance of resilience and innovation, underscoring that significant achievements often begin with simple, courageous steps. Mark joined the board in February 2025. We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to working together to continue to strengthen our community.
