关于我们
The North Carolina Biomedical Association originated in the late 1970's when a group of BMETs were invited to meet at the Area Health Education Center in the Wake County Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. This original group of individuals established the foundations and guiding principles, which have made the North Carolina Biomedical Association the superlative organization that it is today. The By-Laws formulated by this group established the principal objective of advancing the development of personnel involved in the selection, operation, repair and support of biomedical instrumentation of Health Care Institutions.

For years I didn’t enjoy the AAMI Exchange like I could have/should have. Mostly because the company executives I worked for didn’t understand the value of long-term relationship building and they wanted to make it a giant sales call. It was nuts, a stressful experience, because we would strategize over how to get ROI from the show (first priority) and we’d try to make sure everyone from our company was busy; coercing people we were targeting to go to lunch and dinner, making contacts, sponsoring parties, or whatever. Since leaving the corporate world, I’ve been to two conference/show, and they were amazingly enjoyable. I realize now that I should have just attended every show with the easy-going intent to just be with good people, lift those I came in contact with, and learn from others. For those experiencing what I used to, I hope you can find a way to break free from the corporate sales mentality, focus on the long term value of relationships, and experience joy with a great group of people that get to travel somewhere neat and immerse themselves in their profession with fellow professionals. Enjoy each other with no pressure.
