North Alabama Workforce Development Alliance

North Alabama Workforce Development Alliance, Inc. (NAWDA) is a not-for-profit organization engaged in activities related to education and workforce development in North Alabama with a purpose to improve the overall training and skill level of North Alabama craftpersons and tradepersons to promote the consistent application of skill standards in the industrial and contractor workforce community. In addition, the organization works to provide, develop and implement training programs to ensure consistent skill level designations for trade persons. The group partners with regional education institutions and those engaged in workforce development to provide relevant information and assistance with the development and provision of career assessments, skills assessments, training programs, certification standards and accepted industry credentials for skilled craftspersons and tradespersons in order to promote organizational and professional development opportunities as well as workforce development programs. Coordinating with local industry and employers, the organization assesses present and future needs for skilled craftpersons and tradepersons in order to develop and implement strategies and programs to alleviate workforce shortages.
