Beauty Bus brought a Pop-Up Salon to Leeza's Care Connection, generously supported by Driven to Care, for their Caregiver Spa Day yesterday. This event was a much needed breath of fresh air for caregivers who rarely get a moment to prioritize their own self-care. We’re proud to be a part of the wonderful resources that Leeza’s Care Connection offers to those caring for loved ones with memory loss or other chronic conditions. Our incredible Beauty Professionals delivered over 30 services ranging from haircuts and styling, mini-manicures, make up/eyebrow services, mini-facials, and hand massages. Find out how you can support our Pop-Up Salons by visiting our website, or donating here: https://lnkd.in/geUpwX8r

Earlier this week, we hosted our 2nd Annual Back-to-School Event, dedicated to ensuring our patients are prepared and excited for the upcoming school year. The event featured essential school supplies for patients including, coloring utensils, and first-day-of-school snacks. Beauty Bus Foundation also made a special appearance, offering free haircuts, manicures, and temporary glitter tattoos. Parents also had the opportunity to receive haircuts, massages, and facials while their children collected their back-to-school supplies. “This event is a one-stop shop for families, especially those with special needs,” says Brenda Macias, family resource coordinator. “It’s not just about getting school supplies; it’s a chance for families to get pampered, connect with community resources, and catch up with one another. Many of these parents know each other from support groups, so it’s a great opportunity to reconnect and share experiences as well.”

We are grateful to our partners at Concern Foundation for inviting us to their 49th Annual Block Party focused on fundraising for cancer research and supporting those in the cancer community. The team here at Beauty Bus was in awe when we found out that 22 community members were reaching out to their social networks to raise $22,000 to further our mission ?? They reached their goal in just two weeks and also coordinated for 30 volunteers to come and help pack 300+ Bags of Beauty for our upcoming events this summer - what an amazing achievement! Even with our electricity going out the day of our event we made it work and had a great time. We could not be more grateful for the power of community and commitment to spreading the lift and gift of beauty ??

Empowered women empower women ?? Did you know that 1/3 of landfill waste is made up of personal care and beauty products? That number is... not so pretty. Consider this your sign to empty that extra makeup drawer not into your trash can but into the hands of neighbors in need. Make It Better contributor Avery Hansen walks us through a number of wonderful recycling and donation programs for unused/gently used makeup products, empty beauty containers, and even mascara wands in particular!
