Congratulations to our President and CEO, Mark Perryman, Assoc. AIA for being recognized as CoVaBIZ Magazine 150 Most Influential People in Coastal Virginia. "Visionary director Mark Perryman has guided the Norfolk Airport Authority since 2022. Previously, Perryman worked for Landrum & Brown, an international airport consulting and design firm. He is instrumental in the transformation of Norfolk International Airport to prepare for the future and meet growing demand."

Today,?Norfolk Airport Authority?had the honor of hosting the?CIVIC Leadership Institute?for an exclusive, in-depth tour of Norfolk International Airport. Participants, who are?executive leaders in Hampton Roads, gained valuable insights into the airport’s current and future developments, including progress on the TransformORF capital improvement projects, the addition of newly added routes and airline partners, and the potential for expanding into international destinations. An airfield tour, narrated by CIVIC Member and ORF President and CEO,?Mark Perryman, Assoc. AIA, provided an up-close look at some of our operations. ? Additionally, Ryan Banas, PE, CCM of HNTB gave an informative session on the HRBT expansion project, highlighting its significance to the region’s transportation infrastructure. ? The day concluded with a scenic tram tour of Norfolk Botanical Garden, Inc., a perfect way to welcome in the first day of Spring. ? ?? ORF Food, Beverage, and Retail Concessions Opportunity! The Norfolk Airport Authority will be soliciting proposals through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process during late Spring / early Summer 2025 to update the food, beverage and retail program at ORF in 2026. The RFP will include food and beverage offerings from national name brands as well as popular local brands that can be operated effectively in a quick-paced airport environment. For retail, the venues should include products that are regularly used by the traveling public. Products that positively represent the southeastern coastal Virginia and northeastern North Carolina are also encouraged. This event is open to all interested national and local operators. To some, this video from this morning is just a couple of planes on a wet and snowy ramp. But to those who labor to keep airports like ORF open through whatever weather may come their way, images such as these are sweeter than anything imaginable. Over the last 24 hours our area has been hit with nearly a foot of snow — a rarity for Coastal Virginia’s typically temperate climate. Despite those conditions, Norfolk Airport Authority team members were here around the clock keeping ORF’s airfield safe and operational. Work also continued to ensure the terminals were clean and ready for guests and our garages and lots were passable for entering and exiting vehicles. If you’re flying or picking up an air traveler today, please take a moment to think about those who’re striving quietly behind the scenes to keep you moving safely and efficiently. It’s a labor of love, come rain or shine.
