Today we're celebrating Big Bang Day by highlighting SpaceTeam AGH, a group of students from Poland who utilized NORD technology in their systems demonstrating efficient transportation of "lunar dust." They utilized a NORDBLOC.1 helical inline gear unit and an IE5+ synchronous motor controlled by a NORDAC PRO variable frequency drive in their conveyor system consisting of a horizontal scraper-rod conveyor and a bucket conveyor. The compact design of the complete drive solution minimized installation space while the aluminum drives made it easy to transport, a great advantage when traveling on the moon. The students won first place with their design in the 2023 Over the Dusty Moon Challenge hosted by the University of Colorado School of Mines.
