In times of crisis, 211 NorCal is here for our community. During the recent Park Fire, this helpline proved just how essential it is. Jessica Grosse, a 211 Consumer Service Representative, shares a powerful story: “We assisted multiple callers during the Park Fire,” Jessica shared. “One caller, Donald, a senior, needed to evacuate quickly. We provided him with road closures and evacuation routes to get him to safety.” The support didn’t stop there. Jessica and her team continued to assist Donald, helping him register for county alerts and connecting him with resources for essentials like food, clothing, and medicine. “We may be an information and referral service, but we’re also trained for disaster response—whether it’s a wildfire, winter storm, or suicide call. We’re here 24/7.” This story shows why 211 exists: to be a trusted source of support, information, and guidance, thanks to people like you who make this work possible.
