I recently had the honor of joining industry experts at the Florida's Women in Energy Leadership Forum, which brings together some of the greatest talent in Florida’s energy sector, including all the CEOs of our main utility providers as well as rising talent poised to become the next generation of thought leaders.?The panel I participated in addressed industry trends, including the transformative role of new technology. As our sector advances, these areas have become crucial for building trust and engaging with customers and stakeholders. Here are some of the main takeaways from the panel: 1. The Collaborative Nature of Florida’s Energy Companies One of the most remarkable aspects of the energy industry is the collaborative spirit that drives it forward. As we face complex challenges—from strengthening infrastructure to balancing sustainability and affordability. We’ve certainly seen that in the public-private partnerships we’re developing with government entities and other energy companies to create new pathways to energy production while helping those communities reduce their waste emissions. It’s through this commitment to collaboration that we’re able to deliver resilient, forward-thinking solutions for our communities. 2. Technology’s New Frontier Regarding technology, there is no doubt it’s our best friend for driving real change. From AI-driven insights to advanced pragmatic renewable production methods, these tools are helping us reach further than ever before. But not everyone fully understands or appreciates the potential or impact of these advances, and that’s understandable given the rapid pace of change. A big part of our job is to show how these technologies help create a more resilient and sustainable energy future in ways that matter to everyone involved. Nopetro Energy’s new RNG facility in Vero Beach, FL, for example, illustrates both the collaborative nature of partnerships between energy organizations and local municipalities, and cutting-edge technical advancements. The facility will both produce 3 million gallons of RNG ?and prevent 30,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions from untapped landfill gasses each year while generating new revenue streams and creating more than 40 new jobs. In the end, it’s clear: progress happens when we’re transparent and working together. It’s not just about hitting our sustainability targets with cost-effective energy solutions like natural gas; it’s about everyone knowing they have a part to play. #FWELF #WomenInEnergy #RenewableEnergy #RenewableNaturalGas #AI #NopetroEnergy
