关于我们
Founded in 2000, NOPEC is a natural gas and electric energy aggregation representing hundreds of thousands of residential and small business customers in 240 Ohio communities. We use bulk-buying techniques to purchase competitively priced electricity and natural gas and then supply that power to our customers. Since 2001, we have saved our customers hundreds of millions of dollars on their energy costs. We also provide valuable programs that benefit member communities and their residents such as energy efficiency grants and community event sponsorships.

As part of our mission to advocate for the communities, residents, and small business owners we serve, NOPEC has intervened in the Enbridge East Ohio Gas rate case at the PUCO. Enbridge requested a $275 million annual rate increase despite a July PUCO Staff Report recommending a $210 - $275 million annual rate DECREASE. NOPEC has filed its objections and the expert testimony of our rate of return expert. We are vigorously contesting Enbridge's application for a rate increase, and will continue to do so, working in cooperation with the Office of Ohio Consumers’ Council (OCC).?NOPEC and OCC are the only intervenors representing residential customers in this case. ? "To be able to do the right thing by all these people we represent, I think, was one of our finest moments," -Chuck Keiper, NOPEC Executive Director. In 2022, NOPEC made the decision to offload all our electric customers to protect them from high rates, allowing NOPEC customers to save about $302 per average household, and $708 per average small business. Today, 90% of those customers are back and NOPEC remains committed to providing savings, even as rates rise. Read the full article from Crain's Cleveland Business here:
