Big news out of China this morning as the finance ministry has announced it will cancel the existing 13% export tax rebate for used cooking oil effective December 1 potentially creating headwinds for imports into the U.S. market. January-September U.S. used cooking oil imports are a record 3.9 billion pounds - up 98% year-on-year - 55% of which is of Chinese origin. Soybean oil is taking note, up 3.6% on the open. For those wondering - we have imported enough UCO so far in 2024 to replace/displace the oil from more than 332 million bushels of soybeans (aka Minnesota’s entire 2024 crop). NoBullAg.Substack.com

This conference, touted as “a comprehensive symposium on the four pillars of energy transition,” brought together a diverse group of thought leaders for discussions about using low carbon liquid fuels. ?
