For the first time in her career, Felukah is setting off on her debut headlining world tour in the Europe and Middle East. NOORstudios will be accompanying the Qabl El Shams (Before The Sun) tour as the official creative and media partner, powering the visuals and marketing strategy as well as platforming SWANA talent across the destinations. My favorite New York summer core memories have always been with BRIC (Arts & Media in Brooklyn)– NY's longest-running outdoor performing festival. Habibi Festival will take us on a musical odyssey to sample the vibrant sounds of the South West Asia North Africa (SWANA) region. The festival will bring us contemporary and traditional rhythms reimagined by artists like headliner Bab L’Bluz, a Franco-Moroccan psychedelic rock group captivating audiences from Marrakech to Baghdad to Brooklyn. The night will kick off with an ensemble led by Yacine Boularès who will be joined by guests of NYC’s SWANA diaspora including Omar Offendum, Mona Miari, Felukah, Zafer Tawil, plus a DJ set by the Yalla! Party Project. I’m super excited that NOOR Studios is the official creative partner of Habibi Festival– creative directing and designing the visual identity of the festival across social media, stage visualizers, and custom merch! Habibi Festival and NOORstudios are joining forces to position music from the SWANA region as living, breathing, and evolving art forms – that even ancient traditions are having new lives breathed into them with contemporary artists. I had the pleasure and honor of speaking at this year's Slashie Summit powered by Brown Girl Magazine, Inc at Shopify! Who is a Slashie? Slahies are those who include various 'side hustles' in their professional titles to which they devote their time beyond the nine-to-five. As a multidisciplinary creative/ digital nomad/ community organizer/ and CoFounder of NOOR Studios, I learned that I was at the right place this weekend surrounded by brilliant creatives, dreamers, and entrepreneurs! The 5th annual summit was themed around #CommunityOverCompetition and how big businesses start small. NOOR Studios curated an art installation inspired by the fruits, hues, and antiques of the motherlands embedded with our photography and designs powered by Bungalow Collective. Thank you Trisha Sakhuja-Walia for curating a weekend packed with inspirational fireside chats, vendor markets, art installations, and empowering workshops for the SWANA Slashie community. Singaporean breakthrough artist Yung Raja is the indelible face of Southeast Asian hip-hop. Best known for his crisp flow and witty lyricism, the bilingual rapper's music tastefully melds Western and Tamil cultures with an infectiously positive energy. Coming into 2024 with a bang. We partnered with Christian Louboutin to produce a short film on Sudanese Hip-Hop artist Nadine El Roubi’s creative journey and the culmination of her career performing main stage at Sole in Dubai. As the only English-performing female rapper on Sole DXB’s line-up honoring 50 years of Hip-Hop, we knew that a spotlight on Nadine would make for a compelling story on female representation and its much needed impact on today’s landscape of the genre. Through our partnership with Christian Louboutin, we premiered the Astroloubi sneakers during Nadine’s performance and throughout the film. NOOR Studios creative directed, produced, and executed the campaign rollout and pitched and managed the brand partnerships to deliver an official trailer video, film photos, stills, and the full film available on Instagram and our website.
