As many of you know, I’ve been a vegan for eight years now. And let me tell you, vegan restaurant food tends to be a bit pricier—even though we’re just talking about vegetables! A month ago, I visited one of my favorite spots in LA, Maciel’s Plant-Based Butcher Shop, and picked up a delicious Italian sub (hold the tomatoes), a small potato salad, and a drink. With a 15% tip, the total came to nearly $30! Crazy, right? But hey, for the quality and the local prices, it was worth it. On my way home, though, I couldn’t help but notice the homeless encampments. It hit me—how are people struggling to make ends meet supposed to get back on their feet when prices never really go down, only up? It got me thinking about the incredible work my friends, Pastor Joe Daniels at The Emory Fellowship and Reverend Pastor Rudy Rudy Rasmus at Bread of Life, are doing to support the disenfranchised and how many of you, Black ministry leaders across this country, are doing the same. While I feel deep sadness seeing people struggle, I also feel hope. I hope because people like you are rolling up your sleeves and making a real difference in your communities. I'm humbled to play even a small role in helping you discover new ways to raise funds to meet some crucial needs. #ChurchFundraising #FinancialIndependence #FundraisingStrategies #EmpowerChurches #NFM #FinancialEmpowerment #CommunityImpact #FinancialSolutions #BlackCommunity #ChurchGrowth #NonprofitSupport #FaithBasedOrganizations #ChurchLeadership #ChurchFinancialHealth #pastors #bishops #blackchurch #BlackChurches #foryou
