“We are the ones we have been waiting for.” — June Jordan In the aftermath of the recent U.S. election, many of us --in the social sector especially-- are grappling with fear, anger, and uncertainty. Emotions that can spark action, but can just as easily leave us feeling stuck or overwhelmed. At Centering Justice, the podcast I host, we hold to one fundamental belief: we are who we need. Especially when it comes to caring for each other, our organizations and our communities. We also know that the pandemic and racial reckoning in recent years taught us alot that canz serve us now. On November 20, 2024, we’re creating a space to ground ourselves in this truth and explore what emerges when we are still and listening deeply. This episode is about facing hard truths together, but also about remembering the strength we find in each other. We will reflect on how communities have shown up in times of crisis—and how we can continue to do so now. Join us as we: ?? Take personal inventories of those we can count on. ?? Identify the offerings we can give and receive within our communities. ?? Name our needs and fortify ourselves for what lies ahead with collective care. This is not just a discussion. It’s a call to reconnect, to remember, and to act on what we know: that even when systems fail us, we will not fail each other. Be part of this communal dialogue. Together, we’ll transform fear into solidarity and silence into action.
