  • On 17-19 March 2025, Nomi Network Cambodia (NNC), in partnership with the Provincial Department of Women’s Affairs; Provincial Department of Labour and Vocational Training; as well as the local authorities, conducted awareness-raising on safe migration and the prevention of human trafficking and the processes for acquiring legal documents for regular labor migration for vulnerable women in Kor, Chikor, and Lngieng communes in Tboung Khmum district,Tboung Khmum province. The results of the tests conducted before and after the events indicated a notable increase in self-reported knowledge among participants. Most of them had had "no knowledge at all" and "a little knowledge" at the outset, but later on had "some knowledge" and “ fairly good knowledge” after attending the awareness raising activities. In addition, they were oriented on marketing by an official from the Ministry of Women’s Affairs

  • On 18 March 2025, Team of Nomi Network Cambodia (NNC), led by Mr. Rattana RONG, Country Director, met the management and staff of the Community Learning Center in Chikor commune, Tboung Khmum district and Tboung Khmum province. An official from the Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sport (PDoEYS) and one commune council member also attended the meeting. The objective was to discuss cooperate in increasing effectiveness of providing vocational training to vulnerable women after they completed life skill training.

  • On February 26-27, 2025, Nomi Network Cambodia (NNC), in partnership with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the Provincial Department of Women’s Affairs, and local authorities, conducted awareness-raising activities focused on safe migration and the prevention of human trafficking as well as the processes for acquiring legal documents for regular labor migration for women in Phum Thmei, Thmar Pourk, and Kork Romeat communes in Thmar Pourk district, Banteay Meanchey province. Tests conducted before and after the events indicated a notable increase in self-reported knowledge among participants, shifting from "no knowledge at all" and "a little knowledge" at the outset to "some knowledge" and "good knowledge" regarding the prevention of human trafficking and safe migration including the processes for acquiring legal documents for regular labor migration by the conclusion of the activities. In addition, they were oriented on marketing by an official from the Ministry of Women’s Affairs. In the meantime, the officials from the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Provincial Department of Women’s Affairs undertook monitoring visits to observe NNC’s beneficiaries, supported by NNC, who are doing sewing business and raising chickens and pigs in the three communes. Most of the women are earning additional income so that they can use it to cover some daily basic needs.

  • Training on life skills for 2025 was launched on 24 February 2025 in Banteay Meanchey and Tboung Khmum provinces for 130 women (67 in Banteay Meanchey and 63 in Tboung Khmum). They will be trained on key topics such as self-awareness, relationship management, effective communication, problem solving, planning, teamwork, leadership, financial literacy, CV preparation and job interview, which will take place for 30 days. These skills are useful for their everyday life. After this training, they will be further trained on technical skills such as sewing, small business, salon and chicken, pig and grasshopper raising etc. Then, some of them will be supported with grants to start micro businesses while some will be supported with job placement such as in the factories or enterprises.

    On 10 February 2025, 8 Nomi Network Cambodia (NNC)’s members from Banteay Meanchey and Tbong Khmum province offices attended Training of Trainers on Life Skills at its National Head Office in Phnom Penh. It will take place for 5 full days until 14 February and facilitated by a trainer who has many years of experience in working to support women in entrepreneurship and life skills. The main topics of this TOT include self-awareness and emotional well-being; effective communication and relationship management; planning and time management; teamwork and leadership; decision making and problem solving; and financial literacy etc. The participants will use their knowledge to further train the vulnerable women, who are the target groups of NNC. #nominetwork #nominetworkcambodia #genderequality #womeneconomicempowerment #combatinghumantrafficking

  • On 30 January 2025, Nomi Network Cambodia team delivered presentation to Tbong Khmum provincial administration on its program implementation achievement in 2024 and action plan for 2025 in the province. During that time, H. E Ny Chanthida, Deputy Governor and chair of the meeting with working group members of Tbong Khmum provincial administration congratulated on the 2024 achievements and provided recommendations as well as inputs to Nomi Network Cambodia team for consideration in implementing Workforce Development Program to be more effective with greater impact in 2025.

  • On 12 December 2024, all the staff members of Nomi Network Cambodia (NNC) convened in Koh Kong province of Cambodia to review the achievements in 2024; and discuss strengths, weaknesses and challenges and develop strategy for making greater impact in 2025 and beyond. This is part of annual staff retreat of NNC. “Enhancing data collection and storage is a very important part of our work. It helps us make the right decision, particularly in program implementation and management,” said Mr. Rattana RONG, Country Director of NNC.

  • On 3 December 2024, Nomi Network Cambodia (NNC) simultaneously starts the training in three different locations in Kor commune, Tboung Khum district of Tboung Khmum province for sewing, salon and chicken raising for 20 women who completed their one month and a half training on soft skills. The sewing training will be at least 3 months; salon training will be between 3 and 6 months while chicken raising training will be 1.5 days. Some of the women will be provided with grant support to begin their income generating activities once they will have completed their training. These training courses are organized by the team of NNC in Tboung Khmum province and facilitated by trainers who have remarkable experience in theory and practices in their respective fields. “I believe that you have gained knowledge and you will use it to generate income and become independent. I wish you luck, success, economic independence and beung safe from exploitation and abuse,” said Mr. Rattana, NNC Country Director, during the certificate award for those who have chosen to raise chicken.

  • On 28 November 2024, Mr. Rong Rattana, Country Director of Nomi Network Cambodia had a meeting with the Director of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Banteay Meanchey province to learn more about Agricultural Cooperatives in the province. On the same day, Mr. Rattana also met representatives of one Agricultural Cooperative in Pouk District to explore ways how to help women increase their income from running agricultural business.
