Some Wednesday afternoon thoughts. The office isn’t dead. The 9-5 mindset is. Somewhere along the way, we confused "showing up" with "getting things done." We built a culture where sitting at a desk for 8 hours meant productivity, even when half that time was spent waiting for the clock to move. But work isn’t about where you are or how long you sit in a chair. It’s about what you create, who you collaborate with, and the energy around you. That’s why so many people are rethinking their work environments. The best ideas don’t come from a cubicle under flickering fluorescent lights. They come from dynamic spaces, conversations, movement, and inspiration. They come from places that adapt to you, not the other way around. Some of the most driven, innovative people I’ve met aren’t tied to a single desk. They move. They build. They find environments that fuel their best work. And that’s the real future of work - one that prioritizes flexibility, community, and creativity over outdated structures. That’s exactly why coworking exists. Because work isn’t just about a place - it’s about momentum. And when you surround yourself with the right people in the right space, great things happen.

Speaker Bureau Owner - 20+ Years Empowering Meeting & Event Organizers to Curate the Ideal Professional Speakers and Related Talent. Industry focus: Insurance, Healthcare, Financial Services & Tech.

Pleased to be featured in a recent Nomadworks member newsletter interviewed by Indigo Hudson: Nomadworks Member Spotlight - Mike Taubleb We are excited to debut our new Member Spotlight section, where we will highlight some of the incredible individuals who make up our vibrant community. To kick things off, we're thrilled to feature?Mike Taubleb, the founder of Promenade Speakers Bureau. Mike's journey from advertising to creating a company that connects organizations with expert speakers is truly inspiring. Read on to learn more about Mike’s story, his work, and why he loves being part of the?Nomadworks?community. Indigo: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Did work bring you to New York or are you from here? Mike:?I've been in New York all of my adult life, which is about four decades.??I came here [New York City] after going to school upstate. I went through a series of jobs in advertising, working at agencies and knocking on doors when that was a thing in the 80’s and 90’s. At a certain point I realized I wanted to try working for myself.?? ? Indigo: Do you see yourself retiring here in New York City? Mike:?[laughs]?That is a great question because I’m approaching my 60th birthday and I’m getting lots of people checking on me. I'm getting all kinds of reminders of the benefits I could get from social security and everything else; it’s a little humbling. I really like what I’m doing and honestly I don’t have enough hobbies that would keep me busy. Luckily I’m fairly healthy so I’m probably going to do this for at least another 5 years. My wife and I live in Queens, so we’ll probably stay there. ? Indigo: You’ve been in business for about 20 or so years now [2004]. Tell us more about what Promenade offers and the role you play. Mike:?In a nutshell I help organizations find a speaker or maybe a trainer or corporate entertainer and they come in and give a talk as an expert. In the larger sense I’m helping them to reach a goal, or to improve skills or change outlooks by bringing in this outside expert.? ? Indigo: Working in this industry I’m sure you meet tons of different people. You have an extensive network of speakers on your website. Who would you say has left the biggest impact on you? Mike:?Sometimes there are some folks who are very intellectually?stimulating, and there are others who are more emotionally evocative. They journey up and back and they hit lows; they stuck it out or found some ways to turn things around. There are a lot of people who have physical disabilities. There’s a guy, who lost both legs and believe it or not he’s a mountain climber.??He showed me a video of him scaling a peak with prosthetic legs, it’s pretty awesome ! When you see that kind of thing you say “yeah it’s inspiring” and also “oh my gosh my problems really aren’t that big”.??I can’t even pin it down to one person but I often come across these people who are doing these extraordinary things despite their seeming limitations”

??? Reflecting on a Memorable Art Event from 2019! ??? In 2019, the exhibition “Diamonds, Superheroes, and Icons,” presented by Kulture Hub, Not Your Muse, and Nomadworks, showcased artists from NYC to Baltimore who have triumphed over challenges and are making a mark in the art world.??? A special highlight was addressing the opioid crisis issues within the community and ticket donations and a contribution from ClockworkCros, who gave half of their clock sales to the ASAP Foundation. This effort supported the crucial cause of raising awareness for substance abuse, a pressing issue given the opioid crisis affecting many. The evening was vibrant with music curated by DJ ZaZa, beverages from Belaire Rose Sovereign Brands, Central Cellars, and FrutaPOP, and delicious “Snack Packs” from Unkle Harold’s. The event brought together a community united by a shared mission, reflecting the dedication to continuing Yams’ legacy and educating others. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this celebration of creativity and collaboration! ?? #NotYourMuse #KultureHub #EastCoastArt #ContemporaryArt #ASAPFoundation #PayAttentionNYC #WeAreIcons #WeAreDiamonds #WeAreSuperheroes #BeResponsible #NoCombo
