    We had an empowering conversation yesterday with a group of designers from India, Taiwan,Venezuela, Mexico, and Argentina. ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? The day to day experiences that international architecs face in the US while navigating their journey could be challenging. ? Professional development was the key focus of this event as part of the support that the Education & Professional Development Commitee is providing to the diverse community in Portland ??     Exciting News for Oregon’s Emerging Professionals! AIA Oregon is proud to introduce Project 'Almost' Architect (PAA), a mentorship and licensure support program designed to make the path to licensure more accessible, equitable, and achievable. This program offers: ? 12-month Black Spectacles membership—free of charge ($1,790 value) ? Exclusive mentorship & professional development sessions ? Potential (1) paid exam seat per participant (We’re working to secure additional funding to help cover exam costs) Can you help? What makes this program unique? You'll be part of a cohort of peers working toward the same goal, meeting monthly from spring through summer in thoughtfully curated sessions designed to support, inspire, and guide you through the licensure process. Key Dates: ?? Applications Open: March 13th ?? Applications Due: April 1st ?? Notifications Released: April 3rd ?? Program Kick-off: April 16th Not in the Portland metro? No problem! This program is open to all AIA Oregon associate members, no matter where you're located. Every session will have a hybrid option for remote participation. If you know an emerging professional who could benefit from this opportunity, please help spread the word! This program was created to support those who need it most.

    AIA Oregon?is unbelievably proud to launch our new program: Project 'Almost' Architect. PAA is a mentorship & licensure program that aims to make licensure more attainable, equitable and fulfilling?for aspiring Oregon architects. As a participant in this program, you will be given access to a 12-month Black Spectacles membership at no cost, ($1,790 value) and invited to attend mentorship & development sessions exclusive to the program. Additional funding is pending, and we are hoping to extend the financial reach of this program by offering (1) paid exam seat per participant. When you join this program, you will study alongside a cohort of other emerging professionals seeking the same goal: licensure. The cohort will meet once a month through the spring into the summer in sessions that have been planned to inspire you along your licensure journey and give you the tools you need to be successful. Program details: Applications open - March 13th Applications due - April 1st Notifications released - April 3rd Program kick-off - April 16th Do you want to join the program, but you aren't located in the Portland metro? ANY associate member of AIA Oregon is welcome to apply, regardless of your location. Every program will include a hybrid-option for attendance.     CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS! Planning for our 4th annual Architecture + Design Summer Camp starts now and we are looking for members in our community passionate about increasing diversity in the architecture and the built environment profession to join us in the planning efforts. We have four core teams (curriculum, sponsorship, recruitment & registration, and graphics) and there many ways to contribute your creative and critical thinking skills. Our mission is to empower young people to affect change in their community through design. We advocate for fellowship, equity, and excellence in design.
