Every brand wants to increase conversions and customer lifetime value. But what if one of your biggest growth opportunities is hiding in plain sight? It’s your guest users—the shoppers who check out without creating an account. These customers want to hear from the brands they love but they don’t want to get spammed.? Think about it.? When was the last time you actively chose to create an account instead of checking out as a guest? Probably not often.? The main reasons? ? No one wants to remember another password. ? No one wants to be flooded with emails. ? Everyone is concerned about data privacy. In fact, over 70% of guest users opt out of marketing emails but the reality is that guests want offers from their favorite brands - just differently - on their terms, at the right time, and without intrusive messaging. The opportunity is to engage these guest users with frictionless, privacy-friendly ways to stay connected - which can unlock a powerful revenue stream without overhauling your existing processes or infrastructure. You can see what this means for your business. Check out the Node. Revenue Calculator to find out how guest engagement can drive your revenue growth. https://lnkd.in/gEMta2zn

Thanks Zak Doffman @digitalbarriers for this article! So timely, I feel it was written for us @Node! Commercial communications can be 10x more effective, efficient and lucrative for both consumers and brands if used in the right way. Today's 'inbox' isn't that. Shopping online can be made the most efficient and convenient because it is completely private. Just like its convenient when you use your phone to tap at a coffee shop. You can have access to everything you've done in a super simple way, if everything is only on your device. I'm super excited to open up Node for everyone to use it. Check us out at www.getnodeapp.com. ?You can even import all your shopping receipts and offers you got for the last two years! ? You’ll also see how every offer and receipt is instantly organized by the brand you bought it from, and always available whenever you want it.?Also, everything is just on your device and you never have you use your personal email again. You'll want to opt-in to offers, knowing that you can access only the ones you want, when you want it, by the brand you want, without any spam, phishing, or clutter. ? Feedback is always wanted and we will be introducing a few new (and lovely) experiences regularly over the weeks and months ahead - the goal is to make things simple and predictable.
A few weeks ago, Forbes republished an article by Zak Doffman in response to a U.S. government warning to Gmail’s 2.5 billion users, titled “Why You Need A New Email Address in 2025”. The article calls email an “appallingly basic technology”, and argues for a ‘complete rethink”:? on-device privacy and security, trusted secure messaging, DMs between senders and receivers, and a complete elimination of emails that look like anything resembling a spam or phishing email we all know so well. New solutions like Apple’s "Hide My Email" and Gmail’s upcoming "Shielded Email" allow customers to use disposable email, but ultimately puts more work on the consumer and doesn't stop spam or phishing attempts.? At the end of day,? this approach is one of multiple hacks to mitigate the symptoms but doesn’t solve the problem.? Merchants will send even more emails, consumers will hide more - which is ironic because research shows that consumers want instant access to merchant offers from brands they love.? Obviously, email is just not the modern way to enable these connections.? ? At Node., we have solved this problem.? When someone downloads the app, they get a free personalized “Commerce Token” to use in place of personal email whenever email is required on a business site? - separating commerce from personal information.? Consumers and businesses then can engage directly through trusted and secure messages, offers, and more - without the threat of spam or phishing.?? ? Node’s patented device-side, consumer-controlled platform is a real alternative to outdated systems like email and even SMS/RCS. It’s not just an improvement—it’s a reimagining of how commerce should work in the digital age. Check out Node. https://lnkd.in/g_KD8DAF

If you’re like most people, your inbox is particularly chaotic right now.? The holidays means more shopping which also means an endless stream of purchase confirmations, promotional offers, shipping updates, and subscription notices in all our inboxes —some relevant, many not, and worse much of it spam and phishing. The effort to maintain even a semblance of privacy and organization often feels is a never-ending chore. Some of us have even resorted to “disposable inboxes”- making it clear we’ve turned our personal email into a battlefield. Taking a step back - it's all a bit crazy. Is online privacy and inbox chaos just something we have to accept these days? This is the challenge we set out to solve with Node.? Instead of sharing your personal email, Node. gives you a Commerce Token—a private, one-click identifier you can use instead of personal email anywhere email is required. Messages sent to your Commerce Token are automatically organized in brand-specific spaces on your device - keeping your shopping interactions separate from your personal ones. Your orders and offers are clean and instantly accessible whether you’re online or offline. And it's FREE. This holiday season, imagine never needing to sift through your inbox for a shipping update or a deal you were sure you saw last week. It's the perfect opportunity to see how Node. can transform your shopping experience. We’re constantly working to make Node. better, and we’d love your feedback. Try it out and drop us a line directly through the app. And stay tuned for some great new features coming soon! nodeconnects.com/consumer?

A Storefront That’s All Yours BFCM is in full swing, and brands are racing to capture attention and conversions. The challenge? Standing out and staying top-of-mind in a crowded, fast-moving marketplace. The reality: most shoppers prefer guest checkout because it’s simple and private. But once they’ve checked out, they often disappear - leaving brands in an endless and expensive loop of trying to reconnect. The key is to change this cycle of reacquiring guest shoppers. We designed Node. to be different. The commerce app, built for convenience with privacy, gives your brand its own storefront in a private, well-lit, branded space only on the consumer's device.? It meets the customer where they spend most of their time.? With this dedicated space, your messages don't compete with other brands, inbox clutter, and marketplace distractions.? It's just you and your customer, directly connected with 1-Click experiences. Node can be presented post-purchase without adding any friction to checkout. It’s Shopify-friendly and takes less than 10 minutes to set up. Check out how Node works here. https://lnkd.in/gyUiCz6y

If you’re a merchant, it’s time to shift how you think about guest users. There’s a huge opportunity to treat this large and growing percentage of shoppers like valued members - connecting on their terms, their timelines, and prioritizing convenience and privacy. The best part? There’s no need to overhaul your processes, data storage, or first-time buying experiences to make it happen. See how personalized engagement can work without relying on emails, sign-ups, or passwords.?Watch this Node. video to see it in action. https://lnkd.in/g_uJShkq

Guest Users Want to Engage - Just on their Terms.?? If you’re leading a DTC brand, take off your merchandising hat for a moment, and put on your consumer hat. As a consumer, think about the last time you bought something. Did you create an account? Did you opt-in to marketing emails?? If not, you are not alone.? Over 70% of guest users, who by definition don’t create accounts, also opt-out of email marketing.? And this number is only growing.? Data shows that guest users don’t set up new accounts because they don’t want to remember new passwords or be continuously bombarded with marketing offers - and, there’s always the looming concern of hacks. In fact, contrary to popular belief - just because a user opt-outs of marketing offers, it doesn't mean they don't want marketing offers. They do want marketing offers - just on their terms and timelines, not every day, and especially when they don't need it. Now put back your merchant hat on. Engaging guest users on their terms - their timelines, and with convenience and privacy - is a tremendous opportunity.? And it can be done in a way that doesn’t require any changes to your processes, data storage, or first time buying experiences. Breaking the Cycle: The High Cost of Re-Acquiring Guest Shoppers A recent PYMNTS Intelligence study highlighted a clear, yet unsurprising, trend: three-quarters of online shoppers prefer making purchases as “guests,” with only about 13% choosing to create a new account. Around half of those consumers opted for the guest option because it’s easier and more convenient, while 36% wanted to avoid potential fraud. For decades, merchants have tried to coax the consumer into creating an account so that they can provide better service, and more easily build a long term and highly valuable relationship with that customer. From a consumer's point of view, creating accounts is an ever increasing hassle.? It’s an inconvenient burden and creates safety and privacy concerns.? Think about it—how often do you willingly create a new online account? For merchants, this trend carries a steep price. Brands spend up to $60 per user just to bring them to their site, only to lose 50-75% of them when guest users unsubscribe, or disengage after their purchase. Many savvy shoppers even create “junk” email addresses solely to handle marketing emails. For merchants, this commerce reality has become an endless and expensive cycle of fill, drain and refill.? The challenge is clear: merchants need to meet their customers where they are. They need a new approach to meaningfully connect with their shoppers without depending on traditional sign-ups.? That’s where Node. steps in. Node is the only 100% private solution built for guest users - no sign up, no email, no account creation or passwords required.? With Node, merchants have the opportunity to treat guests like members - order history, instant repeat purchases, personalized offers - without requiring users to create an account.? Merchants directly connect to shoppers immediately after their first purchase, and customers receive direct messages to their Node, complete with a copy of their purchase, in a dedicated merchant space. Merchants who adapt to how consumers want to shop can turn guest users into valuable, loyal customers. Explore what Node. can do for your business. For the past two decades, innovation in commerce has centered around speeding up payments. We've seen the rise of digital wallets, tokens, and one-click checkout.? This made sense in the early days, when it seemed nearly impossible to get would-be-buyers off their couch to type 16 digits into an online payment form.? Today we have payment tools, which are actually pretty great. But these innovations have made it glaringly clear that the rest of the online commerce experience is still fundamentally broken.?? Buying something online often starts with a search or an email offer, followed by a frustrating series of steps: pop-up ads, log-ins, password resets, captchas, two-factor authentication, and finally, account sign-up or guest checkout. This process can involve 15 screens or more and it's no wonder that most of today’s shoppers choose guest shopping for speed and privacy concerns. Meanwhile, merchants face the burden of storing personal data, implementing security layers, and keeping up with compliance requirements. Today’s server-centric legacy infrastructure is why these poor experiences persist. But technology has evolved. If we have DMs for communication, QR codes to open doors and fingerprints to unlock our phones, why can’t we have a seamless, 1-click instant commerce and DMs with businesses - without having to share our personal emails or creating accounts. The good news is that it can be done with the computer in our pockets. Our personal devices have the power to simplify the entire customer journey - offering a true 1-click experience from start to finish. At Node, we’re building this experience now. We believe the market is ready for this change, and both businesses and consumers will massively benefit from a drastically simplified shopping journey - not just at the final click, but across the entire process.
