We embody a collective ethos of culture and community, and we’re dedicated to championing the entrepreneur while bringing culturally relevant alcohol beverage brands into the hands of consumers. Our team of investors, builders, and operators is driven by a shared purpose: to help people discover culture and create community through transcendent beverages. We do this by partnering with alcohol beverage brands to take their visions from early-stage to high-growth, maximizing their chances for success. As strategic venture partners with 360-degree value-added capabilities, we go beyond the traditional investor role. We work hand in hand with our beverage brands to de-risk the brand-building process by making data-driven decisions, creating portfolio synergies, incubating for growth, scaling exponentially, and optimizing exit values. The seeds of No Sleep Beverage began over a decade ago, when founder and CEO Nick Papanicolaou launched his own brand and experienced the challenges of entrepreneurship in the alcohol beverage industry first-hand. Recognizing the pain points of emerging beverage brands, he knew there had to be a more effective approach. In April 2023, Papanicolaou’s 14 years of experience in the alcohol beverage industry — including leading Pernod Ricard USA’s mergers and acquisitions team and launching New Brand Ventures for Pernod Ricard — culminated in the fundraising close of No Sleep Beverage. In its first seven months, No Sleep Beverage invested in and partnered with five brands: Barr Hill, Solento, Nine Banded Whiskey, Juliet, and Soley. Western spirits like whiskey and tequila continue to rise in popularity — and research shows that they are at the forefront of premiumization in the spirits market. According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, though American whiskey volume was down 0.4% overall in 2023, sales of super premium American whiskey rose 4%. And while tequila and mezcal volume grew by 5.7%, the dollar sales increased by nearly 8% thanks to ongoing premiumization. We’re toasting another impactful Bee’s Knees Week! ?? Thanks to everyone who participated in this annual fundraising event, Barr Hill by Caledonia Spirits had its biggest year yet, resulting in being able to plant 320,000 square feet of new pollinator habitat. With this, Barr Hill reached its seven-year goal of planting over 1 million square feet of new pollinator habitat! Not only does Barr Hill produce amazing products, but they are doing incredible work — we are proud to see the impact they’re making. ??
Drum roll please..???? We’re so excited to share the results of the 8th annual Bee’s Knees Week! Everyone came out in a big way this year to sip, share and save the bees!???? We host this annual event in the hopes of not only celebrating an iconic cocktail and creating pollinator habitat, but also to support a shift in how we think about bees, butterflies, bats, birds and all pollinators which sustain our ecosystem. We hope you'll continue to carry on these meaningful conversations about mindful consumption beyond the week (ok, 10 days...) and join us in pollinator-friendly behaviors and choices all year long. Throwing it back to the Solento Surf Festival earlier this month in Encinitas, California, which brought together surfers, filmmakers, and artists for a celebration of surf culture complete with live music, delicious food, and of course, Solento Organic Tequila. ?? Highlights included a surf contest and the opportunity for surf cinematographers — like Solento’s very own Taylor Steele — to showcase their art and inspire the next generation of filmmakers.
