    When you think of the Michelin Guide, what comes to mind? World-renowned restaurants, prestigious stars, and the ultimate stamp of culinary excellence. But what if I told you this legendary guidebook started as a marketing campaign for tires? The Origins of the Michelin Guide The Michelin Guide was first published in 1900 by the Michelin brothers, édouard and André. At the time, Michelin was a relatively small French tire company, and the automobile industry was still in its infancy. With fewer than 3,000 cars on the road in France, the brothers had a challenge: how could they encourage more people to drive, wear out their tires, and ultimately buy more Michelin products? A Marketing Campaign Like No Other Rather than relying on traditional advertisements or direct sales tactics, Michelin created a piece of content that would provide real value to its audience: a travel guide. The Michelin Guide initially included maps, instructions on how to change a tire, and—most importantly—recommendations for hotels, mechanics, and restaurants. By providing drivers with practical information, Michelin positioned itself as an authority in the automotive space while also giving people a compelling reason to hit the road.     Our Tips: Launching & Scaling Your Brand on Social Media Often, startups are looking for a way to launch on social media with impact, but scaling their efforts (and costs). Typically the questions we get are: “When should we start working with a social media agency?” “How can we have the lowest efforts with the biggest impact while launching?” Obviously every brand needs a custom approach to their strategy based on their goals and budget, but generally if we are focused on driving brand awareness and sales from the start, here is our approach for the best ROI: Pre-Launch We like to start working with brands at least 2-3 months prior to launch. This gives us time to craft a social media strategy. Suggested Budget: $1,250 Prior to launching (after strategy is created), we create a content library to start with on social media (organic and paid ads) - this typically looks like a variety of creative types (UGC, Images, Videos, 3D, etc.). Suggested Budget: $5-25k During pre-launch we will seed influencers with the product to build hype, drive email sign ups, and start building a following. We will also seed accounts with starter content - organic channels and influencer accounts across all social channels for SEO purposes.
