Brad Sappe is another incredible story of life change that happened at No Longer Bound. "I lost my dad to a terrible accident when I was 21," he said. "I was an angry, hard-hearted kid, mad at the world and mad at God." "After struggling in addiction for 12 years, my wife finally loved me enough to say she was done with me. She dropped me off at No Longer Bound and told me if I ever wanted to see my kids again, I would stay. "During my time at No Longer Bound, God taught me that I had to let Him be enough in my life. I had to stop getting my value from what I had or from what other people thought of me. "Thankfully, through God’s grace and power, I was able to fully surrender. And through that act of obedience, God rescued me from my addiction, He regenerated me, and He restored my family. My wife decided not to leave me, and this year we celebrated our 22nd anniversary! "But God did not save our little family just so we could be happy and whole. It was clear to my wife and me that He wanted to use us to help save others. ? "So, in 2015, we founded Cross Roads Recovery Ministries, a residential, transition program in Central Georgia built on the faith, curriculum and principles I learned at No Longer Bound. ? Five years ago, Andrew arrived at No Longer Bound, overwhelmed by shame. “God disciplines those he loves,” he said with a laugh. “So He put me in time-out at No Longer Bound.” Today, Andrew is married, a loving father, and a college graduate with a degree in Global Studies, which he uses in his missionary work serving refugees in Clarkston, Georgia. ? Tim Price arrived at No Longer Bound in 2005. "Court ordered to No Longer Bound from jail." he told us. "And it was there I encountered the Holy Spirit and committed my life to serving God." ? After completing No Longer Bound, Tim stayed for the Servant Leadership Training program, then served as the Program Director of an adolescent addiction treatment program. He earned a BS in Business Management, then began working at Free Chapel Church in Gainesville. He got married in 2017, and two years later launched the Cumming location of Free Chapel Church. ? Today, he and his wife have two children and one on the way, and he is campus pastor of the new Alpharetta location of Free Chapel Church. Check our this video as Tim shares his own story. We are still celebrating the opening of Grace House, No Longer Bound's new apartment-style residence for men in Transition. This residence allows us to relocate men in Transition from the Hope House dorm to a more private environment, fostering a sense of autonomy. Alongside the new living arrangements, we are introducing programming tailored to address the unique challenges faced in early recovery — healthy relationships, finances, career, and the responsible use technology. This additional space enables us to give men more time to transition at their own pace, if needed, and allows for the expansion of our Servant Leadership Training Program—an extension of the Transition phase that offers further opportunities for growth and leadership development. We are so grateful for our past leadership who envisioned this expansion and our community who makes our work possible!

It was a great day Tuesday as we celebrated the opening of our new transition house, Grace House. “The Transition House will give men an opportunity to walk through a regular day, outside of treatment, but come back and have the support of their brothers and staff,” said NLB Transition Director David Howell. Devin Shaw, a graduate of NLB, spoke about his journey of recovery and thanked all the volunteers, staff, donors and participants in attendance for the role they played in his life. “I spent many years dependent on substances,” he said. “I spent a lot of time homeless; in and out of incarceration; arrested multiple times. I completely ruined any positive relationship I had in my life ... I was in complete acceptance that I was going to die. It’s not what I wanted, but I didn’t have the will to help myself. I didn’t see any light." Devin ended with said, "Today I celebrate roughly two and a half years clean ... and I owe it all to this place. It’s not just a year-long treatment program; it’s not just a rehab. This place feels like home to me, and these people feel like family.” We look forward to sharing more about our new facility and this incredible day in a couple of weeks!
