Join us Tuesday, March 11th at 4:30 p.m. in Manville Health Science RM 2 to listen to Dr. Chad Kingsley M.D., District Health Officer, for an insightful seminar on how a degree in public health can serve as a valuable stepping stone to medical school or established healthcare providers. Dr. Kingsley will share his journey, highlighting the interconnectedness of public health and clinical practice. Participants will explore the skills and perspectives gained through public health education, the importance of community health initiatives and how these experiences can enhance a career in medicine. This session is ideal for undergraduate students considering their future in healthcare and seeking guidance on navigating the transition from/to public health.

The District Board of Health is hosting a special virtual meeting March 6, 2025, at 3 p.m. The purpose of this is to go over budgeting for the next fiscal year and make sure the public sees our outlook and so we meet Washoe County deadlines. We can’t meet those deadlines if we wait until the next regularly scheduled DBOH meeting in March, which is still scheduled for March 27, 2025.
