OUR MISSION To provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational and other assistance to active duty and retired members of the Naval Service of the United States, their eligible family members and survivors - when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs. OUR CORE VALUES We value a non-judgmental atmosphere that preserves the dignity and self-respect of everyone – clients and staff. We value training, education and mentoring to ensure our staff – employees and volunteers – can attain the highest levels of effectiveness and professionalism. We value our history as a primarily volunteer-supported organization and endeavor to empower our volunteers to administer the programs and services of the Society to the best of their abilities. This past weekend at the New York Football Giants game at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society members Gillian Gonzalez, Vice President, Chief Development and Communications Officer, Chris Dour, CAO, and Andrea Nevin, Director of Education Assistance, were present to receive a donation of $100,000 on behalf of The Giants Foundation. Meet Kate Dibbern, Director of NMCRS Patuxent River. Kate's journey with NMCRS began in 2014, where she volunteered at Everett, WA. Since then, Kate has served in six field offices and at Headquarters. As an active duty military spouse for 18 years, she understands the challenges military families face. One of Kate's favorite aspects as Director is building her volunteer team and mentoring new caseworkers. As Patuxent River has become a more expensive area, Kate and her team assist young service members with budgeting tips, easy family recipes, and connecting them with local resources for clothes and activities. For NMCRS Patuxent River, there’s nothing quite like witnessing clients leave with a sense of relief, knowing they’ve helped them through tough times and with navigating the challenges of military life.
